I had recently not sold anything for over a week so thought i would just delist and then relist then, when doing this i had noticed that Ebay had changed my postage without my say so (so might explain why no sales) to Evrie!! how dare they!! i had an Evrie parcel come to me yesterday from an item i had ordered on amazon and they said on the order details they had handed it to me, errrm no they had not, it was just basically chucked on my front lawn, its a good job i live in a safe area, and was not even at home!! EBAY DO NOT TRY AND PUSH THIS RUBBISH COURIER OR YOU ARE GOING TO GET INTO ALOT OF BOTHER WHEN IT COMES TO A WHOLE LOAD OF REFUNDS!! what a completely stupid move!!

Each to their own. It pushes yodel for me which to me is the worst of the lot. I work with evri and though it's not the best always, it's usually the cheapest and most reliable...plus getting packlink compensation is the easiest with them. That said I've started to use Inpost a lot as it's way more convenient.

When you relist or sell similar your original settings are defaulted to special delivery regardless what was on your original listing
just like when you relist or sell similar it defaults to allow offers
you can opt out of evri in your postage preferences and just have Royal Mail
but you have to check what eBay in their wisdom have decided what your parcel size is because for mine small parcel it defaulted to cabin luggage
bugger off
their whole postage system is a mess at the moment
“special “ it isn’t

I am more annoyed that they had changed my listings to evrie without my say so in the first place! and do not want the cheapest i want the item to actually get to the buyer and not just dumped in the front garden!! and then lie about it!??

Inpost is cheaper than evri and more reliable imo

They've already increased our prices in the name of the b/s buyer protection fee so I guess its becoming normal for them to take over.

that might be the case but alot of customers have no clue where to take the items or collect the items.

Everie really is not special lol but seem to default it to them, god knows why and makes relisting a whole lot longer!

Yes I was like that at first but you’d be surprised at the number of lockers dotted all around the place . Also you have to learn how to use the lockers but it’s really dead simple
inpost customer service is also human led, they’re quick and very helpful
they answer the phone and respond to emails quick
id only use them off my own back though not through eBay cos I dread to think what horrors await there

i work in a post office and the amount of people we get day in day out to post inpost parcels is ridiculous, just hope they found where to send them in the end lol

Because the have deals with couriers. You/Buyer pay for postage, but ebay only actually gives a fraction of that to Evri due to their deal with them.
Ebay are making profits with "Simple Delivery", that's why they are so eager to push it.

Think I may be able to answer this one; I recently used Evri for a sale but found that Ebay DOES NOT GIVE YOU AN OPTION FOR POSTAGE PAYMENT - IT COMES OUT OF YOUR EBAY BALANCE....... so, if you have no account balance, then it is automatically deducted from your bank account.......conversely, if you send via Royal Mail, you can still have the postage paid via Paypal; sneaky, isn't it??!!! Basically, Ebay is controlling what you do with your own money.....

the problem is that they will refuse refunds because Evrie will say they delivered! Win win for Evri

LOL (i think that is the phrase i am looking for!). Most reliable and EVRI do not even go anywhere near together, cheapest maybe and you know what they say about buying cheap. I would not touch them with a barge pole. It may depend on your local courier but it should not have to, it should be the same service everywhere.

or just stick to doing your own postage, my items default to my RM setting when i relist. It is only on new listings that i have to alter boxes.

personally i prefer and will stick to my local post office. I certainly know where it is, the staff are great and i have not had one item go missing since i started selling/buying on e bay. I have had parcels not delivered by EVRI though, who also lied about no one being in, house does not exist (big sign on the road). Our local EVRI courier does not deliver to anyone off the main roads and gets away with it.

Evri is £2.94, Inpost is £3.42
I use packlink cuz easier for compensation. Inpost uses yodel, rm and their own couriers. But tbh recently i tend to agree with reliability.

90% of my evri land, 70% of my rm land and under 50% of my yodel land. It does come down to courier but using packlink claiming compensation I always get 100% of my evri damaged or missing back. I have yet to win a claim with the others.
I'm using inpost as my main now tho as is easiest and gets delivered to their door not a locker

the problem is that it should not be down to the courier. If you offer a service it should be the same everywhere. You also can never get a decent response from EVRI about anything. After initial experiences we never use EVRI unfortunately other people lie and say will send RM, etc and then go cheap to save money by using EVRI. Items never get here (apart from once when he was on holiday!) and then you have to go through the wait and trauma of getting a refund from the seller. One time i ordered an item through Amazon, coming from America (DVD) I followed it on the tracking, couple of days to travel across there and then it arrived in the UK and my heart dropped - handed over to EVRI! I actually got straight on to Amazon to let them know there was a 99% chance it would never arrive - they did not even wait just sent me another copy via RM (never did understand why it had to come from USA as they sent me it from here...) It never did arrive through EVRI.

I hear ya and totally understand. It's all about profits. As an evri courier, what theyre doing just now is disgusting. Most of us are walking out. All these companies are the same. I'm sticking with inpost for now but unfortunately they don't deliver to the highlands and islands so will continue to use evri on those occassions.
