What postage to choose for jewellery?

How do you guys send jewellery if the value is below £150?

Do you use a signed for or tracked service with Royal Mail? Apparently there is no compensation for jewellery lost if a tracked service is used.

I use Tracked 48 for items over £10.  The cost, with no signature, is £2.80.

In the event I am sending anything worth over £50, I would use Special Delivery.

Anything under about £10, I just send with a stamp on and no tracking.

I exclusively use Royal Mail and had one item not received case last year.

Although RM say they don't cover jewellery, I have previously claimed for  £30 glass bead necklace which they paid out for, and an £8, 925 silver pendant which they did not pay out for because it contained precious metal.

I usually sell costume jewellery. I will call them to confirm what is their stand on it as it does not contain any precious metal.

Jewellery is insured if using special delivery, up to £2500.
