What is deem'ed a low-priced ebay on simple delivery?

Now that ebay are making simple delivery mandatory shortly what is deem'ed a low-priced ebay on simple delivery.

Is it items listed at £20.00 and under or what?

As a low priced item is excluded from simple delivery

I prefer to just put on a 1st class stamp or 2nd class stamp on most items I sell

Thanks Pearse

It will be interesting to see how they make it work with private seller auctions.

Many sellers still do 99p starts on items that they don’t know the value of and then work out whether to send tracked or untracked based on the price it sells for.

So far no one knows what is deemed "Low Priced" and what category low priced fits into.

I sell stamps and almost all are "Low Priced" but as of now I don't know if *bleep*y "Simple Delivery" will be the only postage option available. It is clear that eBay's simple postage charges DO NOT take into account the cost of packaging etc. I guess they want us to slap their *bleep*y label directly onto the item...rant!

You need a comma in this sentence since you have two independent clauses.

I think i might have to take off my coins since i sell them with £1 post, cant even send freepost and add the shipping to the coin price because i would have to pay the £2.70 stated for upto 100gs. Does anyone know where else i can sell coins ?.

You will be able to still use custom postage after the changeover for items under £10 which weigh up to 100g and fit in an envelope

I talked to an agent today and Kat who staffs this board has said the same

Another vague answer!

"you should be able..."

She did not say "you will be able to continue with your own postage".

Urghhhh!!!!

Good this has been made a tad clearer

I wonder does the £10.00 and under items

Mean the £10 rule exclude the new ebay buyer protection fee

Ie if one listed an item at £8.99

Ebay wud add a £1.12 buyer protection fee

Taking total taking total over threshold to £10.11

Hopefully this just applies to price item is listed at and not include the buyer protection fee

Hi yes you are correct . I made the enquiry with ebay agent earlier and he told me under 100gs and under £10 will not be included in the SIMPLE post system, so im leaving my coins on until i am sure.

Are they separate requirements or do they have to be both under 100g and under £10…?

The auction issue raised is interesting.

The issue of including BPF or excluding is unanswered as far as I have read so far.

The communication is, as ever, dreadful.

They have to be under £10 and under 100g and fit in an envelope. I think this is mainly aimed at stamp and postcard sellers.

I have no idea how that would work but i am sure Ebay will be on the look out for it. If too many people did it they would probably take away the exception and make everybody use simple delivery.

Problem is there is nowhere to put the size/weight on the listing form, unless you are using SD. I have asked about this (twice on the weekly chat yesterday) but only got the answer that under £10/100g I can opt for customised.
No one seems to be able to tell me HOW eBay will know my item is under 100g.
