What is a buyers code and where do I enter it?

I have just sold an item. Buyer used Buy It Now and paid. Apparently they have got a code or something to send me. I cannot scan a code as I don't have a smart phone. If I get a number or whatever where do I enter it?

Once your buyer arrives to collect their item and gives you the 6 digit code, just go to the order details and add it.

It will only appear if it was a Collection Only item or selected by the buyer as Collection.

eBay send the code to the buyer only after they have paid through eBay (NO CASH ON COLLECTION allowed any more).

If he's got the code then it was a collection item and it's been paid for.

Are you using desktop or the app?

Proof of collection

Proof of collection is required to protect you against item not received cases. 

For proof of collection you can choose one of these options:

• On desktop, manually enter the buyer's 6 digit code in View order details
• Use the eBay app to scan the QR code the buyer received through email
• Use the eBay app to manually enter the 6-digit code the buyer received through email
• Ask the buyer to confirm they’ve collected in person through the item’s order details

To scan the QR code or enter the 6-digit code via App:

1. Go to Selling on the eBay App.
2. Go to the Orders tab.
3. Select the sold item being collected.
4. Click the drop down button on the blue Send Payment Reminder banner at bottom of the page.
5. Select Scan collection code from the list of options.
6. You can either scan the QR code or manually enter the 6-digit code the buyer received through email.

In your "orders awaiting dispatch" there should be a "Confirm collection" option for the order.
