Verifying Bank Account For Over a week

I've been waiting for a payout for over a week but eBay are still trying to verify my bank account. I've had 1p go in and 1p go out. Surely it can't take this long usually. I use one of the biggest banks in the world, I'm not sure why it's taking so long. They've not contacted me asking for anything else. Has anyone else experienced this?

Currently having the same issue, support have basically said don’t try the first ‘fastest’ option and the option where you upload your statement are flawed and the micro transactions are the only way, 3-5 business days is ridiculous, there are people that use eBay as a full time job, if this happens close to pay day, then there’s going to be big issues with paying bills…

I am having the same issue. I changed my bank account on Saturday via ebay and got the message would be verified within 48 hours. I accepted this wouldnt complete over the weekend but checked today which was the 48 business hours and now telling me its a week. When I chatted with an agent he told me the 48 hours is a cooling off !!! Not sure what he meant but now told 6-8 business days. The Q&A for this process confirms within 48 hours. I have alot of money on ebay which I need but noone will help. I have advised happy to provide a bank statement but told this is not a process and I just need to wait. I would like to point out I changed by bank account before when I got divorced and it was done and dusted quickly. All other websites I have updated to my new bank account now have all had them verified within 48 hours at the most so I am interested in understanding why EBAY take week or weeks from what I am reading.

Yes. I did get sorted after posting the post that you have now responded
to. I have suggested to each of the people who, like you, have responded to
my post that everyone puts their own post on regarding this scandal.
Flooding the community page with our complaints might just help others in
the future.
It will get sorted for you but I know just what a frustrating place you are
in,

Please note that this wouldn't be considered an issue, but a verification and/or change process.

When you change your bank account details, it can take up to 48 hours. However, verifying your bank account is a different procedure, and if you selected micro deposits to verify your recently changed bank account, it can take up 5 business day to be verified after the changes take place (up to 48 hours).

It is all an excuse to keep sellers' funds to earn interest on them.
Verification can be done more or less instantly nowadays. Transferring
micro deposits is a rather old tech way of doing things and in any case
that old school way of doing it does not need to take more than a day,

SAME. THIS PEOPLE ARE SCAMMERS WHO ARE PLAYING WITH OUR MONEY, I DONT UNDERSTAND WHICH PLATFORM DOES TAKE THIS MUCH OF TIME TO VERIFY THE ACCOUNT OR BANK DETAILS AND GIVE THE PAYOUT. WE SERIOUSLY NEED TO PUT A COMPLAIN ABOUT THESE PEOPLE BCAUSE THIS IS OUR HARD WORKING MONEY AND WE CANT ALLOW THEM TO PLAY THIS GAME.

The deadlock is, ebay said it sent 2 microdeposit to my bank account, while they never show up in my bank account. And ebay do not allow changing to other method of verification.

Ebay waiting for 2 transaction amount in my bank, my bank waiting for ebay transaction to come in....

I created my ebay account in August and verified my bank account then. I recall having problems doing so because of ebay's bugs. 4 months later they have asked me to verify my bank account again, despite nothing having changed. I tried to use the recommended verification method by logging into the bank and authorising the bank to share the information about my account with ebay, but it did not work in any of the 3 browsers I used. I told ebay that they shouldn't lock my payouts unless they can provide a method that actually works to then verify it. I contacted them in the hope they would look into why it isn't working and fix it but they basically ignored me and said don't worry you can choose the microdeposits method. That's not the point! I am getting emails from ebay encouraging  me to spend my earnings on ebay. Seems highly dubious. I am waiting for the microdeposits. No sign of them yet. The service is terrible.

Micro deposit system doesn't work well either! They are just using this as
a rouse to keep people's money and earn interest on it

it can take long, as ebay is laid back when it comes to ebay stuff.  but when its your turn they want  quick results.

I'm in exactly the same position. Needed to update my credit card for some reason it asked me to update my already working bank account as well. Put the same details in for the same working bank account.  Now it requires 2 micro deposits which haven't arrived.

Yep, so annoying. I switched  bank accounts recently & thought it would be an instantaneous update on eBay. (Has been the case with all other accounts I have).

I tried to use the instant log in verification method but no pop up window displayed so after numerous attempts I gave up & had to select the deposit process instead. Have sold some items NYD & now can’t withdraw the funds until they verify my account. 😡

If you are not getting the popup, then you probably have  a popup blocker.

That I'm afraid is not Ebay's fault.

You need to switch it off, or allow popup's from Ebay.

You sound very defensive on behalf of eBay. Quite rude too I would add. But to correct your assumptions, no there are no pop up blockers switched on. 

I am merely sharing my personal experience of changing my account on eBay & pointing out that of around 50 accounts I’ve had to update, EBay is the only 1 I’ve had this nonsense with. The fact remains it’s a very annoying & frustrating experience. Even if as you say “That I’m afraid is not EBay’s fault”.

I'm not being rude at all.  That is 100% your own perception.
I did however work in IT support for many years.

And I most certainly am not defending Ebay.
90% of the problems like this are user error.

They are just making money on your money and their customer services call
centres must be overwhelmed with unhappy punters. This alone must be
costing them a fortune. A bit more honesty would be appreciated, ie "yes,
we are using delaying tactics to make money for ourselves out of your
money".

Yes have heard a lot of people saying the same thing. I first heard this actually quite a few years ago when they were taking several days to send payouts to sellers for no apparent reason. & now hearing it once again with the bank verifications. Not good.

After seeing this post I think I’m going to take off all other current items I have listed on eBay!! I set up an account last week and sold a designer bag, due to needing the funds I luckily set up bank info at same time a week later and still can’t withdraw! What’s the point in selling when you’re getting your payments later than your items arrive to the buyers!! Still waiting and it’s 7th day of verification the 1p came out 2 days after it was set up! Not a great process at all and the bag sold after 2 days!! Think il take off other promoted items too as payed eBay a lovely £149 for an organic sale not one even clicked via promotion!! Rip off!
