Used eBay perfectly before the changes. Now have no interest. "Talk about being put in ones place"

I have not sold anything since these dreaded changes not really happy with them.

Couple of easy questions to the brave sellers who have stayed on and now know.

Can a seller still use Royal Mail postage stamps (those little square paper things} or do we now have to use a eBay label?

Will eBay hold payment if seller posts something by normal post without having it tracked although buyer says its arrived safely.

Can a seller combine a few bought lots together and post them in one envelope only charging buyer for one postage like before, or do eBay still prefer to charge buyers postage on each lot?

No, you can't use RM stamps with SD. (Which is unfortunate as I have about £200 of stamps sitting in my drawer@, so yes, you need to use the Ebay label.

If something's not sent tracked you'll get your money 14 days later, I think it is.

Not sure about the combining, but I've seen others say you can't, though apparently Ebay are looking into it.

As far as I know, you would still be able to use stamps on items that are exempt from Simple Delivery, ie letter sized items priced at £10 or under, weighing no more than 100g.

Oh, yes, that's right. I'd forgotten that.

The postage stamp issue is another reason why eBay should have made Simple Delivery optional - or at least had a much longer period of adjustment, so that those who need to use up stamps could have done so.

Oversized items are also exempt from SD - I presume it's ok to use stamps on a very big parcel?!  🐘

There's certainly a lot of space on a very big parcel to put the stamps 😀

Personally I haven't got a clue what's going on here anymore.

Made my first sale in about 3 weeks yesterday - was expecting some sort of QR code or whatever the heck it is they send out BUT everything seemed as normal - got message to say my item had sold - was able to see buyer's address & have written out label (like i've always done) & will take it down to the Post Office later and get a proof of posting receipt (as usual).

Maybe i'm the last man standing?!

Any other sellers carrying on as "normal"...so far...?

I put my account on holiday for a couple of weeks after the SD changes were announced while I assessed my options and decided to signup up at the place that ebay are badly copying. Bought and sold some stuff there and determined they had implemented buyer tax and managed delivery far more acceptably.

I like it there - they do a good job and it's refreshing not to have all the ebay tiresome oppressive vibes which feel like they are stabbing you in the face with every new announcement.

While my ebay account is free of the SD-virus I opened up listings again for the past 2 weeks and sold a further 11 items here. I've also withdrawn some ebay listings to replenish my sold listings at the other place.

Once SD is forced on my account then I'll set holiday mode on again to and move the rest of my suitable listings to the other place. Going forward I only expect to use ebay for the collection stuff (although there is a social network more suitable but I haven't tried selling there yet) and the stuff where there are no categories at the other place.

I don't want to relist stuff too fast at the other place as there's only a finite rate of orders I can keep up with. I just have lots of junk to sell hopefully the overall volume of listings at both places will be less in future anyway.

Any loyalty to ebay from the past 24 years is now gone. I'll just use the place offering me the best deal on each purchase or sale. Most of my recent purchases have been at the other place as it generally works out cheaper.

My biggest gripe is the SD - you are guided on every single listing to include it. Plus you cannot avoid it if listing over £10 items. Since I was also selling off my own and my late brothers+ stamps I need to use up stamps on the parcels. Obey have not grasped that stamp collectors just 'might' want stamps on the packet and not a label - all because of their greed.

I see they might have changed their SD yet again since it was supposed to be enforced 15th April, then 28th April - now certain categories I believe are still allowed to totally opt out - but I'm still to see it for myself - so I have not relisted all my items as I'd have to do so 1 by 1 and that is not happening!

....You lost me to other venues Obey!

Yep...the first thing you need in anything in life is trust...I don't trust this place anymore.

They've messed up massively.
