Tracking number

I have just sold an item. So I go to the item on the app (iPhone) only to find the buyers address is nowhere to be found just a message saying the address will be on the postage lable I don't use postage through eBay because the amount is always wrong. Did find address after 20 mins of faffing about.
but now there is no link anymore that i can find to mark item as dispatched and enter the tracking number. Ebay need to put all this stuff where it can be easily found

Re: Tracking number

Simple Delivery is now compulsory on ebay so no alternative but to use their postage labels and system.   Otherwise you cannot sell on ebay.

Re: Tracking number

Sounds like eBay's new Simple Delivery has kicked in and your buyer has already bought a label that you need to print, this is why you can't mark as dispatched and add tracking.

If you can't add your own tracking number then your payment may be held for 14 days.

Re: Tracking number

Simple delivery. Showed the postage for evri as £2:00 the item was an A3 scanner weighing 5 kilos. They would have rejected it at evri..

I have in the past used eBay returns lables but got sent packing by the post office. eBay can't get it righy

Re: Tracking number

With Simple Delivery ebay's AI is supposed to work out what the correct postage label should be.  Looks like its done a stunning job here.

Re: Tracking number

I contacted eBay CS via a call back.

There answer was to click on the postage label link where one is supposed to be able to put in dimensions and weight.

That option was not there so it raised a £2:00 postage label.

I was then told to go back to the order details which now showed it posted. There I could select to add a tracking number and put my tracking number in.

He also told me that in the future if eBay gets the postage wrong the postal service have to accept it. They will have to claim the extra postage off eBay.

Re: Tracking number

That's right if we leave it to ebay's AI to decide on the postage and it gets it wrong we are supposed to post it anyway.   Not sure about posting it anyway with evri but if its a royal mail postage label the post office is supposed to accept it anyway.

Unfortunately not all post offices know they are supposed to accept packages with wrong simple delivery postage labels on them and are rejecting them or they are accepted over the counter but are rejected somewhere else in royal mails network, resulting in a charge for the buyer to pay before they can receive their package.

Re: Tracking number

Hi Wintersdawn, was it you who asked the question about how is SD cheaper than normal postage options on the Wed chat? Did you understand the response, and if you did can you explain it to me?

Re: Tracking number

Yes, it was me that asked the question about postage supposedly being 20% cheaper through simple delivery.

I was looking for and requested a specific example but the answer I received made it not possible for me to work it out.
