Time it takes to get Payment for items!

Hi.

I can't be the only one who is not happy about the length of time it takes for funds for sold items to be payed into my account! I've sold a couple of items today, buyers paid straight away so I posted them an hour after selling Royalmail 48, they are established being delivered on the 17th or 18th February! So why does Ebay state that I will get the payment on the 2nd of March! That's disgusting, money in Ebays bank account for 12 days after items being delivered! How can that be fair!

Re: Time it takes to get Payment for items!

Peeps are not happy about the new Buyer Protection Fee true,  but looking at your account you've returned to selling after a long break,  so your initial payouts will be held longer,  for up to 21 days.

Tracking showing delivery will release the payout sooner.

This longer hold is a security measure.  When there's sudden selling activity on a dormant account,  it raises red flags to eBay as it could be a sign that the account is hijacked. With tracking showing delivery this shows the genuine owner has returned to selling.

Once you're established again showing you are posting items promptly,  this long hold ceases,  but you may like to read about eBay's new Buyer Protection Fee policy here:

Re: Time it takes to get Payment for items!

These new payment rules have caused me an issue already. Sold an item, £25 and sent RoyalMail48. It was marked as 'out for delivery', but the postman didn't scan it on delivery, so tracking is stuck on 'out for delivery', meaning rather than 2 days for funds, I've now got to wait 2 weeks 🙄 Buyer did receive it as he's left feedback.

This is the issue with these new rules, it's fine until the postman is too lazy to scan the thing. I've also read that on low value items under a tenner, funds will be released on feedback being received. Well, that's fine, but if the buyer doesn't bother, which many don't now, that's more waiting. Since these new rules have come in, I've had 4 buyers not leave any feedback yet. Can't help feeling this site is getting more trouble than it's worth!

Re: Time it takes to get Payment for items!

It's all just such a bad way of going about it! You don't go to a shop, get all you want to buy and then pay them when you have safely got home! Some ebay users rely on selling for extra cash and getting the money straight away!

Re: Time it takes to get Payment for items!

Hi. I've been selling for years! And on ebay since the early 2000's. My feedback that I receive should show how much a trusted seller I am. It is just a stupid way to do it, what if the item gets delivered, but not scanned! I've had that before! Luckily the buyer has told me that they have received it. This is just opening the door for dishonest people to say items have not arrived when they have and sellers have no proof of delivery!
