Sold 3 items to one person

I’ve sold 3 items to one buyer and I’ve got three different labels. Is there a way of combining postage? It would make more sense to send them in one package rather than 3. Or do I just send them in one box and just just one of the labels?

It would be best to cancel/refund the transactions with buyer's agreement and relist in one listing with one postage for the buyer to buy again.  You do that from the dropdown menu for the items on your orders list.

The alternative would be to send them together anyway.  Open the unused labels to mark the items as dispatched then add the tracking number to the extra items at View Order Details > Postage > Track Package > dropdown arrow.   That has to be done on a desktop browser.

If the buyer paid for the unused labels the cost will be automatically refunded to them in 30 days.

Will the label I do use only get a tracking number once scanned once I send it at the post office?

I think the tracking number is allocated to that label when it's printed but it's not activated until it's scanned.   If a label isn't scanned it's not recorded as used.

I am replying to say in a similar situation, I just sent the items separately (though felt stupid doing so and it cost me a lot more, lol). What I still don't know is, what happens if you choose to use only one of the labels. Each label corresponds to a separate transaction, so if the other labels are not used and therefore the item never shows as dispatched, do you still get your funds ? Or will ebay assume since the labels are not used, you never sent it out and refund the buyer eventually.

For unused Simple Delivery labels,  the refund goes back to whoever paid for the label.

  • If you selected 'Buyer pays’ when you created the listing, your buyer will automatically be refunded for any Simple Delivery label that isn’t used after 30 days

  • If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling.  Also ensure you add the replacement tracking number of the service used, and it shows delivery.

Thank you tressygirl with regards to the label, but with regards to the actual payment for the items associated with those unused labels. Does the seller still, absolutely, get the funds ? I didn't know whether the whole transaction would get refunded automatically by ebay, if they see no dispatch on that particular order. I dont want them assuming I didn't send them out and refunding the buyer.

"If your buyer has purchased items from you in different transactions, you’ll receive separate postage labels to post each of the items. "

As long as the buyer does not raise an issue, Item not Received for instance. you will eventually get your money, albeit later than usual.

If you put it all in one parcel, you need to open the order/postage details and change the tracking number to the one on the label you used
