Simple delivery is shocking

I sold an item on eBay the other day had no choice but pick DHL collection so I went with that even though I could have sent it cheeper with Royal Mail or Evri. Then the collection was book but guess what no show by DHL for collection. So I had to pay for another courier to take it. Try to contact DHL but no luck. Shocking service on eBay behalf

Yes a lot of Sellers are experiencing shocking service from DHL/EVRI this week, on behalf of eBay. If you wish to just send via Royal Mail, you may change your SD settings here:

It isn't possible to exclude DHL though so that wouldn't help in this situation.

Yeh that is right but you still can’t exclude DHL for large items in the past I book parcel force 24 but now I can’t for certain things not necessary on weight but length etc. it just don’t work for sellers but for eBay pocketing money yeh

You need to be careful now that ebay has introduced DHL, that your 'workarounds' are not a way of avoiding Simple Delivery for items where it is compulsory. 

It's fine to provide a workaround that makes a broken system work as ebay intended,  it's not fine to suggest ways of avoiding mandatory requirements.

But dhl are not providing the service - there are several reports of them not collecting, some for days on end. It is still a broken system, I am surprised that you see it as otherwise.

How on earth are you supposed to send the item if ebay's system will not collect the item?

I think that you ought to try living in the real world of ebay postage instead of just following ebay's line of what should happen.

There is no need for rudeness, and I read everything. 

DHL not collecting is not a fault with the SD system as such, as in the system that selects one of Ebay's chosen couriers for an SD mandatory item.

It is a problem with the courier, I.e the process after SD has been used on the listing.

Suggesting a way to avoid DHL now is very different to your workaround which ensured that items that were too big for SD previously could be sent by custom postage as ebay intended at the time.

I can see why you think your workaround might be useful in the current circumstances,  I am just providing a friendly warning that ebay might see it otherwise.

 When ebay fix it so that sellers are able to send their items via simple delivery and their chosen couriers that will be the time to retire any workaround. Simple Delivery  has the word " delivery" in it - how can a seller deliver using simple delivery and dhl who are collect only but are not collecting?

I do not care how ebay see the workarounds so long as they fix this broken system. ( why did ebay tout my workaround to sellers when they couldn't work out how to list items themselves? - They are just relying on us guinea pigs to smooth out their simple delivery rocky road )
