Yes, from a PC. I don't have a smartphone new enough to use the app, and don't want to fiddle about on a tiny little screen and no keyboard or mouse either.

If you are only been offered collection within two days could that be because that's what your handling time is set to? What happens if you wait a day or two before booking it? For instance it's Monday today so if you wanted something collecting on Friday if you don't try to book it before Wednesday, Friday would be two days from then.
However you do it a long delay in despatch could get you into bother with e-Bay though.

Excellent myself and the rest if the world use iPhone or smartphone, book it anytime anywhere, now i need to carry a pc everywhere , simple postage is rubbish, you have to guess the size of the parcel before packing, rubbish rubbish rubbish, as an adult i want to book my own parcel with my royalmail login! Using my phone at any time and a label brought to the door …….

Its not "simple delivery" it is rubbish. Everyone thinks so. Buyers as well as sellers. Everyone except ebay . Who instead of agreeing it is broken now claim it is INTENDED to make money for them. ebay just overcharged one of my buyers by £2.19 on postage due to the AI bot multiplying the WEIGHT of a parcel by 3 instead of working out that 18 curtain rings will fit in the same SMALL 2ND CLASS PARCEL as 6 curtain rings. I advised the buyer to demand a partial refund of £2.19 & she is trying to do that as ebay of course refuse to deal with me as the buyer paid for the OVERPRICED delivery label !

Didn't you have to do then when you listed something in the old days so you knew how much postage to charge? Now e-Bay do the guessing and if they guess wrong it's their loss not yours.
As for using a smartphone I can't comment as I don't do it. If "The rest of the world" does it's strange there aren't more complaints about this aspect of Simple Delivery if it doesn't work on them. I do know that when using the browser on Android you can tick "Desktop Site" and it's the same as on a PC, albeit small and difficult to see/use.

I don’t use a smartphone. Screen is too small and typing is horrific. I use pc or laptop.

An Ebay user for 21+ years, I ceased selling following a perverse decision by Customer Services 2 years ago.
Now approaching 80, we have been looking to clear the decks of things our children wouldn't want to inherit, but things which still have some useful life in them. In the interim, "Simple Delivery" was imposed.
Every aspect of the new system (listing, managing offers, postage, completion and eventual payout) seems unnecessarily complicated and scripted, with non-sequitors included in postage, permitted sizing, drop-offs and collection. The "sell for free on Ebay" campaign, in my opinion is anything but - the reality of having sold 4 items for a total of £119.88 gave me a balance of £98.33, with £21.15 going to Ebay. I make that 17.6%. Recovering that balance has taken a week (I have all of the customer services chat transcripts), with nothing but obstruction and obfuscation by the "automated assistant".
My conclusion is that Simple Delivery is a means of Ebay controlling all of the proceedings whilst increasing their fees (advert charges), but acting as stakeholder, holding all monies for as long as possible.
Our "clear outs" will now go to charities so any value remains with them.

Simple delivery is making it hard for all sellers and buyers lets go back to as it was before and will all be happy come on Ebay pull your finger out and lets get back as it was.

"Simple delivery is making it hard for all sellers and buyers..."
Some, yes. Most, maybe. All, no because that would include me and as a Seller simple delivery is better and as a Buyer no different.
As for the veracity of "It's free to sell on e-Bay" all I can say is that of the things I've sold in recent months I have received the asking price in its entirety and can access the proceeds of a sale the day after payment is received. Early on I had to pay 30p to Royal Mail for collections, which was my choice, but that's now free. The only other deduction is the tiny cost of parcel tape &c but that isn't new — I'm even saved the cost of printing and affixing labels.

Did you click the blue 'Get label' button after selecting the collection time (that is the most common mistake as it isn't exactly intuitive) and did you receive a confirmation email?

I agree with you, everything on ebay now is far too complicated and time consuming and not just the bits you mention.
I had to buy a new lap-top as my old one wasn't able to take W11, another US tech giant using its near monopoly to squeeze more out of consumers.
Surprisingly, for a tech dinosaur, the switch over went well, paypal -- no problem, email -- easy, all other sites sign-in -- all done.
But not ebay.
User name and password entered -- Let's verify it's you.
Call me -- the phone didn't ring.
Change the land line number to a mobile, although it shouldn't be necessary.
Call me -- Let's verify the new number
Send a text -- Nothing.
Then a screen telling me I can send a picture of my passport or drivers licence and I need to give my NINO -- Sod off ebay !
A few hours later, one last attempt.
Call me -- and guess what? My original land-line number rings with a 6 digit code (not 4 like every other site) and (at last) here I am !!
WHY does ebay always have to make everything so messy?
