Sold several items and shipped via the simple delivery scheme - Evri was the carrier,
items boxed up and shipped as per the listing timescale
dropped the 4 items into the EVRI collection point all at the same time
now had 3 messages from 3 buyers that items have arrived damaged - it seems all 3 items have been badly damaged in transit or delivery , one photo looks like the box has been run over by a truck !
I am dreading a message from the 4th buyers!
it seems evri have thrown the sack of parcels under the van !
so what happens ? Evri scanned the items in sturdy boxes in good condition and yet the buyer sends an image of a destroyed packages?
the items are useless now - so return is pointless, the buyer has no goods , and evri are at fault
what happens now ? I guess eBay refunds buyer ? Insurance Is built in to simple delivery ? Or am I screwed as a seller for evri’s failure ?

The question has to be, why are you using SD in the first place? Which is for private sellers and not for trading.
Surely with all of your selling experience, you can work out the solution.

Yep, ebay should refund the buyer, not you! This is the singular good thing about Simple Delivery.
Provided the buyer chooses 'arrived damaged/damaged in transit' (or words to that effect) ebay will pick up the tab for this evri disaster and leave your payments with you 😀
Just tell you buyers to open a 'damaged in the post' case and it should all be fine 👍
(Very important to tell them *NOT* to choose 'not as described'. !)

18k of sales, with another 3k listed, and a catalogue to download, that is an incredible amount of unwanted items for sure.

To add to the excellent advice received, your wife can turn off EVRI here:
Account Settings > Postage Preferences > Simple Delivery > Edit
In future, it is best to post from the account you're querying.
