Simple Delivery

Is Simple Delivery mandatory now ? used to be able to select custom postage option but it’s not available now. Just tried listing and Simple Delivery is the only option for postage

Well, it is now items under £20 and 100g. It was £10, but the change doesn't help me, as I have many items under £20 but none under 100g (after packing, at least).

I have listed several items all of which are over 100g, one is 3.5 kg and can pick custom post again so not sure what’s going on but going to continue as long as I can!!

If you cannot find Simple Delivery for that item just now,  it's because Friday is eBay's maintenance day, when those up in eBay Towers HQ in CaliforNIA are tweaking and installing new systems.  It's still very early hours of the morning there,  so less disruption for the American members,  but sending things askew and awry here in the mornings in the UK.

It will be back to norm soon / later.

We have not been released from Simple Delivery!

I don’t want simple delivery as it does not help me at all as I cannot post with evri or Royal Mail where I live. I am more than happy with customer delivery that’s what I’m trying to say so am going to list what I can while I can. Thanks

You and many others do not like or want SD I'm not disagreeing with the slightest,  just trying to explain it's a temp site issue because of Friday's maintenance.

Of course,  list items whilst you can as Custom postage is only showing,  I'd be doing the same,  but do not be surprised if later they are changed back to SD.

  If they are,  check them carefully as often mistakes have happened with this auto changeover.

One reason I like Simple Delivery is that I can get Royal Mail to pick up for free and bring the label. The only driver in the household is on crutches and in pain, so it's essential journeys only!

I've turned off Evri as the drop off is too far away, which means that some of my postage costs are a bit higher than those who accept both.

Many are experiencing this,  you are not alone, and it's been an issue all day.

Although the Friday  reason for tech issues is usually fixed much sooner,  and this seems to be lingering on far longer than the norm Friday maintenance upset!

Let's hope it is fixed soon as many are affected.

It appears to be working as it should be to me. Under £20 LL Custom Delivery, over £20 SD on all categories. I think we should call it a solution not a glitch.

Not all categories.  Books yes, antiquarian books no.

Fiddling is worse than usual now as ebay will be preparing for the ‘ramp up to Christmas’ where they fix whatever is not broken and make broken things worse. It happens every single year from September.

Apparently Royal Mail are experiencing problems as well which won’t help matters.
