Is Simple Delivery mandatory now ? used to be able to select custom postage option but it’s not available now. Just tried listing and Simple Delivery is the only option for postage

Three days ago, all custom delivery methods got added back on to the app and are still there today for all new listings, (albeit that the listing method is all different and spread over certain new pages/categories for completion) despite all their threats of its the “Feebay way” only from the 15th.
I have no idea what’s going on and it seems Feebay don’t have a clue what they are doing. This has got to be the biggest mess they have ever created. They need to abolish this greedy debacle and apologise to all private sellers for creating such a disaster

That's what i found last night doing a test relist but looking again it was "from" £3.44 so still have no idea what the cost would really be. RM only and they recommended 1kg for a large dog toy that would need a lot of packing. 3.44 would be way below the real RM price.
Was looking forward to today tbh so i could make a final decision and now nothing seems to be happening.
Well it is they are having second thoughts maybe?

The small parcel size is included in the medium size one
if it’s under 2kgs it will be 3.44£ with RM tracked 48
I believe be this to be so based on test listings
but ebays been a bit of a shapeshifter recently, and until it’s all settled down I won’t take anythng as written in stone

I understand what you are saying. However, under the Simple Delivery, the second and third category are essentially for the same RM service - i.e. medium sized packages under 2kg. Seems a bit odd??

It is and they haven’t done a great job outlining it all
I think it’s something to do with agreement they’ve reached with Royal Mail
I still don’t get it though
if you’re actually sending a medium size parcel but getting charged 3.44 RMs losing out ?
as you said there’s only envelope, large letter, then medium size parcel , no small parcel size

yes I've done a test. initially it said £2.85! Now on the listing it says £3.44 - but put it in a basket and it is £3.45 (the price I had originally listed it as. But it's a lot better than the £4.27 (if you exclude Evri, as I have to because too far away to drop off)

I complained to Ebay over a week ago that there was no price for RM tracked 48 small parcel between 1kg and 2kg, last week the price was coming up as £4.27. The rep I spoke to agreed with me and said she would raise it immediately with the right team. It appears that they have now added it in but under medium parcel price of £3.44 which is 1p less than the RM onlne price for small parcel RM. If your parcel size is medium then the simple delivery price of £3.44 is significantly less than the £5.15 RM online price for a 2kg medium parcel.
Ebay will have done a deal with Evri (day we will lose or damage your parcels) and RM with business pricing and with the huge volume the discounts Ebay get will be huge. You can guarantee that simple delivery is lucrative to ebay or they would not have introduced it.

I absolutely do not understand this. Did a test listing, listed with the same price and 5 day to post thing. Can opt out of simple delivery ATM. But, and if that goes on working , following on, can I post myself? or do I need an eBay generated label?.

I went into advance settings and chose RM instead of Simple and popped my price in and it worked. Also had a message from the greedy company saying that there were some areas that they could not deliver labels to!!!

Who knows what is happening with Simply Delivery , I listed a item with three available decided to add the price off postage to the item and offer free delivery . The price off postage for me is £3.44 for a 1kg parcel which is 1p less than royal mail charge online and a 2kg parcel is now the same price both parcels are medium parcels . Would be interested in hearing if anybody else is now seeing the same .

Yes, I saw someone this morning, Glasgow to London and we can't deliver in that area. Nonsense!.

Are you allowing for their breakout clause where they can override Seller courier selection?
Even if you deselect Evri they can still use them. They announced that simultaneously with the seller courier choice and then added it directly into terms and conditions.

Ebay quote a price of £3.44 for a 1 kg parcel. However, when you come to actually selling the item, you will find you are charged £3.45 for shipping. So despite promises in their marketing leaflet of 20% savings, you actually save precisely zero.

at least it is better than they were charging if you excluded Evri. But yes it is showing for 2kg £3.44 but in basket £3.45.

if an evri label comes up I will have to cancel. I'm happy to use evri, but collection only and that is not possible with simple delivery. It's too far to drop off and I don't drive, it's a 16 mile round trip

You should be able to choose the courier. Simply deselect Evri so that Royal Mail is the only option.

that's what I am seeing now for 2kg - but when item goes into basket it is £3.45!

Yes better
still not saving but that’s ok
At least this time not getting fleeced for nothing lol, just charging what RM charge for both 1 and 2kg parcels unlike before
a rare sensible move in weeks
