Simple Delivery

Simple Delivery . It was simple , I wrote address on package and took it to the post office and would send tracked or signed for to avoid issues , simple .  Now ebay have complicated it to the extent that I  can no longer sell items . Member for 21 years but this is the final straw . Not big on technology  , use a laptop for ebay and have never owned a mobile phone , so to simply post an item I would now have to go out and buy myself a printer for labels , mobile  phone for QR codes and while I'm at it a measuring tape and scales for weight and dimensions  to enter in listing .

Having read other comments it seems I am not the only one unhappy about this moronic decision to mess with the postage . Who in their right mind would want to use Evri ? Obviously ebay because it must be the cheapest .

I guess or hope there is going to be an exodus of private sellers from ebay this month when it becomes mandatory , that's ebay loss though as I feel the small private seller brings a variety of items to the site that you wont find with shops / business sellers .

I certainly wont be listing anything else if they are going to dictate how you post an item and I could not bring myself to use Evri anyway . At the moment if a seller uses Evri I wont make purchase , has to be Royal Mail .  Also I avoid items with buyers protection on it . although if you are using Evri you would probably need it . Must cost ebay a few quid at the end of the year with Evri losses , items being stolen , lost or damaged ( probably why they introduced buyer protection to cover losses ).

I had to claim £120 back after Evri made one attempted delivery then person noticed value on custom sticker and stole it , item sent via ebay global shipping from the states .

This site has been going downhill for some years now anyway , next thing they will want you to buy packaging with their logo on it to post items in !

Your right. I have been on ebay since 2004 and loved it until recently. I too like going to my village Post office, having a chat then sending items my prefered method. I want my post office to stay in business so always want to pay them my money. I now have stopped all listings, I have a load of items ready for sale just sitting in my shed, but I am not using ebay unless I can choose my postage method and support my local post office.
