Purchased an item that was coming via Evri Simple Delivery. Overdue and the Evri tracking is so confusing they dont seem to know when it might be delivered. Messaged the seller to see if they can get a clearer idea their end and get an automated (fu) type response saying the seller has used Simple Delivery and giving a list of options that do not relate to the issue. I have no idea if the seller will even see my message. Ebay seem to be taking over every aspect of the sellers role! this results in a very frustrating buyer and seller experience. I was concerned as our usual Evri guy seems to be on holiday having had a replacement deliver at 8 pm other day and berating us for having the wrong address!!! (which we didnt.)

If the estimated date of delivery has passed, open a Not Received case.

"I have no idea if the seller will even see my message."

Some sellers have reported getting a message from ebay that says something like "Your buyer has reached out about the item you sold, but because you used Simple Delivery, we'll handle it". Unfortunately ebay's way of "handling it" might fall well short of being useful to either buyer or seller.

Yes, the seller probably received the 'Your buyer reached out' message, but not the message you tried to send. Buyers & sellers can't send 'normal' messages about postage, because eBay has introduced this new, automated message system, to supposedly handle any queries about Simple Delivery parcels... 🙄

It might be worth trying to contact the seller via their profile page. At least you should be able to send a 'normal' message that way.
