Simple Delivery Refunds

The process to obtain refunds seems a bit ridiculous and manual.

Why does the order-number for item have to be entered manually?

it should be automated - click item picture you canceled sale for and it picks up order-number.

When you do manually submit the request you get no email external or internal on eBay account giving an acknowledgment or a reference number.

Why does it take up to 14 days for the refund to be processed?

It should be immediate if automated.

In my case the buyer contacted me after sale to say eBay had his address incorrect and could I update the address?

Answer was for me to cancel the sale.

Re-list the item (yes even though eBay says it does automatically- it doesn’t).

Buyer to correct his address incorrect ebay

Buyer to do Buy-It-Now again with correct address going in the postage label.

Come on eBay clean up simple delivery label refunds by automating it and nit as an after thought to the process!

Re: Simple Delivery Refunds

I agree your usecase is obviously an instance where there should be something in place (a refund when you didn't even ship the original order because the buyer cancelled) - obviously in most cases, users are getting refunds to avoid Simple Delivery use in the first place.

ebay want you to use Simple Delivery - so aren't likely to put a lot of effort into a process they don't want sellers using in the first place.

But yeah - for cancellations where the label has been activated - should be a process.
