Dear ebay, DO NOT randomly set new defaults!

So, here we go again. Suddenly I have new DEFAULT delivery options for Simple Delivery (AKA Incredibly Complicated Delivery), thank god I spotted them. If I want to use DHL, Yodel or a man on a bike I will decide to use those things, NOT YOU. UNDERSTAND? When will you learn to just leave things alone? For 30 seconds would be a start.

Dear ebay, DO NOT randomly set new defaults!

First today, we had 1956glyn's thread (How to opt out of Click and Collect as a seller please?), and now this. It is becoming seriously worrying.

About the most 'positive' thing that could be said in your case is that you, unlike the other poster, could at least see that eBay had changed your settings - but that's rather cold comfort.

I suspect that these boards will go quieter while everyone who read your post goes off to check their settings (again). That's certainly what I'm going to do next.

I'm glad you noticed in time (on this occasion), and thanks for giving us all a heads-up.

And again - its another seller who sells a good number of custom made (by you I assume given the name on the account) products on a Private Account.

You have a solution if you want to chose your shipping for those items.

No doubt you don't consider yourself a business seller of course for those items.

I don't think Ebay are going to take any notice from one small seller who is choosing to use their platform. Even if you are using capital letters to make a point.

Dear ebay, DO NOT randomly set new defaults!

Hi @tonyfisher I reported a few weeks ago about payment methods for postage labels being changed by eBay. The Forum team member Marco did look into it, but simply would not accept that it happened. I sent screen shots because he was referring to the wrong thing and then went silent about it.

It should be that if something changes that account holders get a message to say so. It is really unacceptable to change settings behind the screens and we just have to spot it.

As ebay has been switching on such things as ISP and Click & Collect for years without informing the seller, I doubt that they will take any notice what-so-ever now they have a new box full of tricks to use to try pushing private sellers in the direction ebay wants them to go in.
