Simple Delivery Fees for over max size weight.

hoping to make a post specifially to help ebay sellers find answers as to how much they will be fined if they post an item over the max length, width, height and or weight through Simple Delivery (SD)!

It could be very aggressive from large parcel to freight? Has anyone

any experience or seen a story of someone being fined?

Thank you

Nope  there have been no reports of this.

If a seller uses eBay's ' dimensions' on their listing and it's confirmed with an SD label,  any discrepancy,  there is no ' fine' with Simple Delivery . Market place Seller eBay would pay any difference owing.

Currently there is an issue with listing items which should be excluded from eBay's SD and Custom Postage should show,  but it doesn't.  There is a workaround to follow,  explained many times on this forum,  but again no ' fine'  to pay.

The max length of simple delivery is 61cm

My parcel is 70cm. I was not given an option to input size or weight when making my listing and so i selected the largest size I could.   Now the item is Sold.  I still have no options. The max size is still 61cm for my label.

ebay website state we will have to pay if above 61cm through my ebay account including the £1 admin
If the weight or volume isn’t accurate, the following issues may occur: The courier may refuse the collection. Your shipment may be withheld at the facilities of the transport company. If this happens, we will contact you to provide information and options according for your case (such as: payment of an extra charge, return to origin, collection at the transportation company’s facilities, etc.).

Ebay quotes:

your packaged item will need to meet the following requirements:

For a Royal Mail parcel shop drop-off or collection – dimensions should be up to 61cm x 46cm x 46cm

"If you don’t use the parcel size that was recommended when you created your listing, and your item exceeds the maximum size and weight of the label, you may be responsible for the extra costs to send your item. This includes the cost difference between the parcel sizes and an administration fee of £1, including VAT."

"Avoid extra charges by keeping your package within the size limit selected at listing."

How do we sellers know the cost difference?  it might be that royal mail decide at their depot it needs to be driven to parcel force depot, at a very high cost.
