This is so frustrating.
A small sub 100g item, for just £3, why can't I list it without Simple Delivery?
From what I gather it should be excluded, but the option is not available to me at all to get rid of that POS!
I tried the trick I read in the comments about making it an expensive over £750 item, which DOES make Simple Delivery disappear, but as soon as I go back to revise the listing to under £3 , Simple Delivery rears its ugly head on me again and no way to get out of it

aha, I think I've sussed it - ridiculously if you "revise listing" it messes up. If you just edit the price only from the quick edit page it "seems" to be set up correctly. Proof will be whatever happens when it sells I guess to if I will end up being charged more in postage than the item sold for!
Ebay, you have a lot to answer for with these choices(!)

Not all categories are eligible for the opt-out. In FAQs on here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/sellercentre/postage/simple-delivery?targetgroup=C2C
click on "Which listings aren't required to use Simple Delivery?" - although they've reduced the list and left it open a bit.

ah so it is £20 now, I'm sure it was £10 before.
Reading the info there its ridiculous, only giving examples of a few categories that, its nonsensical and no definitive list with "such as"
To give you more flexibility when selling, Simple Delivery is optional for items priced £20 and under and in certain sub-categories* such as, Trading Cards, Coins, Stamps, Mobile Phone Cases, CDs, and DVDs*, which are typically letter or large letter-sized and 100g or under.
So basically the only way to find out based on the random category it wants to use, is by wasted a ton of time going through the process........well done ebay (!).....I'll be glad once decluttered the house and never have to use this place again based on how they've messed this up this year
