Selling from the U.K. to Outside the U.K. When will I get paid? seller payment when goods arrive

Does anyone out there? Know as a UK seller if you sell to, let’s say someone in the USA via Auction format when do you get paid? I understand that UK to UK you have to wait until the goods have been delivered before payment is released. Is this the same for deliveries outside the UK? Sometimes these deliveries can take ages as they are processed through customs of the receiving country , we are talking 4 to 8 weeks in some cases at busy times. Do I really have to wait that long for payment ?? 
I phoned eBay reference this and got a guy who mumbled his way through a reply saying yes I would have to wait but to be honest with you, I didn’t think he knew what he was talking about and was guessing. He suggested that I send everything via global shipping. That way, I’m paid as soon as it hits the shipping centre. Fair enough,  but that’s forcing me to use expensive global shipping and cutting my overseas market down because a lot of overseas buyers don’t want to use eBay global shipping.

I'm not sure if there's been other discussion or clarification of this, but from the payments page it sounds like payment is released after 14 days if the order is not tracked, or if the tracking does not show as delivered, which I guess may include if the order is stuck in customs.

"For untracked deliveries, or tracked deliveries when there is no delivery confirmation, funds will become available 14 calendar days from the order date"

Something that I just found out that may help is that sometimes RM international standard parcels do actually have tracking once they arrive in the destination country - if there is a UBxxx number by the barcode on the label try it on a global tracking site like parcelsapp or 4tracking and you may find that you see tracking and a delivery confirmation.

I knew about the untracked deliveries after 14 days, but I didn't notice
that it was 14 days for a tracked deliveries as well.
All my Overseas parcels are all Royal Mail Tracked. I presumed I wouldn't
be paid until tracking confirmed delivery.

Your best bet is upgrade to a business seller, then the new rules will not apply. Only snag... selling fees are much higher.

I send all overseas sales as tracked . 

So as tracked, does it fall under the 

"no payment until delivered". That could be a long time. Typically China is 4 weeks. 
Also in  some areas ( the far east is one ) The postal staff don't have scanners or don't scan on delivery. So even though the item is delivered it never shows as delivered. 
Loosely it falls under the 14 day rule. Released automatically after 14 days if no tracking. But this is aimed at UK to UK non tracked. EBay don't actually mention "international sales" at all , only Global shipping .

wow.. what an awful system ebay is turning out to be...

How on earth do they think this is acceptable..  hey .. ill post you something of value... and ill only get paid for it.. weeks maybe months later.. because its been delivered and the countries postal system hasnt updated that its actually been delivered... oh wait... i wont get paid for it..
