Selling fees are too high on ebay, time to call it a day and just bin it all

I have been a loyal and faithful member of ebay for 20+ years now, till quite recently it has been good, but of late not so good, sadly. The fees are just too much for me and also for other sellers too.

So what to do, I think that the options for me are to list less items only every second week, so my fees are less and to list less items.

I have found it very theraputic as I had to have open heart opp over a year ago, it gave me something to focus on and I met a lot of nice people and remain in contact with them to this day. But I can see me calling it a day and just giving away my stock of old car parts or just taking it all to the dump, which will be to me a sad day, but such is life and it will be the end of an era too.

Not much else I can say, but I think that ebay should rethink things as it is going to cost them a lot of business, I wonder, I can see that nowdays that their is very little or no loyalty at all.

I don't think it's just the coin category, back when I did get a few sales in vintage glass I found more or less the same.

I'd list at a fair start price 7 day auction.  Everything I list now gets Watchers (waiting for an offer?) but rarely would I get even one bid.

Re-list at the same price BIN and sometimes got a sale quite quickly.  My guess is that real buyers either no longer like auctions or just forget to bid in the last few minutes after putting the item on their Watch List seven days before.

I don't think people spend as much time on ebay as they did a few years ago, I know I don't and I've done exactly the same myself.  I no longer look at my watch list every day to keep the reminder fresh in my mind.

As of yesterday/day before? business sellers now get no fees on preloved clothes until the end of the year.

Wow!! Could someone post the link to this please as I haven't read anything about it or received notification from eBay about it.

The original poster was a Private seller complaining about high seller fees, but this thread is nearly 2 years old, there haven't been any seller fees for Private sellers for quite some time.

Now , Buyer Protection Fee / Simple Delivery is another matter for Private sellers,  and flavour of the month for the boards.

If you wish to mention Business seller fees being high,  best to start a new thread.
