First time I have sold a low value item since all these nightmare changes. Anyway I am going to be sending the low weight and low value item via bog standard royal mail second class mail. Its totally pointless using a tracked service because the value of the item is so low and I would be literally in debit rather than credit regarding the sale.
Anyway, my question is do I have to rely on the seller to confirm deliver either via leaving positive feedback or via other means? I am extremely worried if so, as many buyers fail to leave feedback or use any form of communication to receive an item. From the outside looking in it looks like I won't get paid for many low value items solely because the buyer cannot be bothered to confirm that they have received the item.
Please can anybody enlighten me on this? Thank you so much!

If you buy standard Royal Mail at your post office the receipt will have a 16 digit delivery confirmation number on it that ebay accepts as tracking, which you enter manually. Otherwise payments will be released after 14 days.
From the end of February payment for a single item of £10 or less sent untracked will be available 24 hours after the seller receives positive feedback. Without f/b money will be held for 14 days as before but you will get it.

If you buy your postage online via Click & Drop then you still get the 16 digit code on all large letters under 100g, just ask for proof of posting.

OP, depending on the value of items eg if under £10, then its worth reading the January update. However this snippet should also help you.
"We’ve also heard your feedback and understand that shipping costs are particularly top of mind for low price items. When you’re selling a single item for £10 or less, and it’s sent untracked, funds will now be available 24 hours after you receive positive buyer feedback. This will be live by the end of February."
Otherwise its as @4_bathrooms mentions 14 days for funds to be released.

I had a sale for a single item less than £10 that was sent 2nd class RM (untracked) a week ago. Buyer left positive feedback confirming delivery and that he has happy with item 2 days ago (on Saturday). Funds not released yet and item still shows "funds pending - delivery". Maybe they don't count weekends in the 24 hours, or maybe they are delaying implementation of the "release funds after feedback" mechanism until 28th Feb but it doesn't seem to be working yet since it is over 48 hours since the feedback was left.

You will have to wait 14 days, the feedback thing isn't active yet.
