From February 2025, sales proceeds of private sellers will become available via eBay balance, 2 calendar days after the order has been successfully delivered, unless subject to a hold.
Not at all in agreement with this.
Talk about being controlling, what is wrong with the way it is now then.

I've just been stung by this - I had an order cancelled and when I relisted the said item, the postage defaulted to Evri (who I have never used). I explained to the buyer the situation and sent it off Royal Mail as I always do - the item was rec'd today and buyer has left positive feedback but despite this my funds are still on hold until 9th April! Just not good enough eBay, you really need to sort this out, all while my money (and probably countless others money too) is no doubt getting some decent bank interest while it sits in limbo somewhere!

Guaranteed!! My other account got banned for selling a item worth over £2000, says I have to wait 6 months to receive the money even though I provided them with all the proof the item is mine.
6 months! And says or longer but I won't be waiting longer before going through lawyers. They are ridiculous and the research shows they are doing this to many many many others just so they can delay giving the money that is owed.

I will be sending everything tracked and signed from now on! This means I won’t be selling low price items as the buyer won’t want to pay £5 postage for something only to costing a few pounds!

It really is a joke the old system worked a lot better just sold a PlayStation 5 for just short of £300 and eBay won’t release my funds and the whole no seller fees thing we have been shafted with knew it was eBay doing an early April fools as they now take buyer protection fee

This is poor. The advert on TV now praising the 'now free to sell' is misleading. They seem to have just changed who pays for the listing and camouflage it as 'buyer protection fees'. I have so many messages asking if I can sell my items for £xxx. I can't. If I sell for £xxx, I have to calculate how much eBay takes as 'buyer protection', decrease the price further so buyer sees £xxx and I end up receiving £xxx minus £xx.
What does it matter if the buyer isn't happy even if we receive funds immediately off eBay? It would be the exact same as it used to be. We receive the item back and refund the buyer, except this time, eBay have had the funds in their account gaining interest instead of ours.
I'll certainly be selling elsewhere first at a reduced price before resorting to eBay. I don't sell as a business, just my stuff I no longer need/use.
I'd love the TV ad to show the couple selling their 'tat' on eBay, sat after the sale, twiddling their thumbs for 3 weeks waiting on funds to clear as RM has failed to mark the item as delivered or because the buyer isn't quite happy that the red shown in the photos is more of a mauve.
I've complained to eBay but it's like peeing in the ocean.

For items under £25 in value you won't need to add expensive tracking, feedback if left by the buyer, ( yes, I know many don't!) will release the payout sooner.

And do you know what's also ripping my knitting about this setup? The fact that I get numerous notifications on my phone regarding watched items, items that I'm not watching but may be interested in etc. etc...
Guess what though?
Not one single notification to let me know that my funds are now available to be withdrawn. How bizarre (read tactical) is that?

HI
just wanted to say i sold a few items this month - funds for the item that was sold on 25th April was released on 27th ( which is all good )
I then sold an item on the 26th and 27th and the payments are all held - even the one from 25th has been held with newer sales - so I'm really confused - is it 2 days or 4 days - we just don't know?
i mean , its not a big deal but it could be for some sellers who used to rely on quick release for funds.
also noticed postage is all over the place
reading your sales and trying figure out if I paid for postage or customer paid it very confusing
on payments - eBay app ( iOS )
postage is added to your sale and then minus from the sale - its just clumsy cumbersome confusing
i just wanted to put that experience out there
i have hope that eBay will get better
thankyou
