We are based in Scotland have a few items with eBay Premium Service that are affected every time there is a UK holiday that is not considered by eBay as a holiday for us. I have called eBay about this many times, but they haven't done anything about it. It is easy enough to get eBay to remove defects if we get them for affected transactions, but it doesn't help if our customer expects their order a day earlier than they get it (due to eBay's estimated delivery not taking into account public holidays that the couriers do not collect from us). If anyone else is affected by this, please contact eBay about it and express your concerns - the more sellers that contact them, the more likely they are to do something about it. Like many other small businesses selling on eBay, I don't get a chance to take a lot of holidays, so try to always take public holidays to get some time off. Not that it would matter if I came into work and packed up orders anyway on a UK holiday as the couriers wouldn't be collecting from us anyway! There must be other Scottish sellers with the same issue, so please contact eBay!

eBay might not be able to set their system to separate the Bank Holidays settings for Scotland without it effecting the rest of the UK.
A friend who lives in Scotland says it does affect his customers delivery expectations, so he alters his dispatch time setting by a day to allow for any delays over the Bank holidays.

Strangely enough, sellers in Scotland have to abide by English bank holidays but thats because eBay despite, ironically being based in Ireland, treat Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland as part of England when it comes to holidays.

Adjusting your dispatch time can result in losing the Premium Service badge and losing the 10% fee discount. I don't see why I should take a financial hit for something out of my control. I could set time away, but that might deter buyers purchasing if they think we are away. The best way would be for eBay to fix this. Even if they had an option in seller preferences to choose UK holidays instead of local holidays.

Surely this must affect more than Scottish sellers or do Northern Ireland & Wales have the same holidays as England?

I presume that sellers in areas other than England will be affected too. I have no way of knowing for sure.
