My buyer says they received an empty box when i sent them a RTX 4090, they provided me with pics including the label so i know its legit, i have tracking number and receipt from the post office. I suppose he could have just taken it out and photographed an empty box but he has a lot of positive reviews and no negative so i don't think so. What do i do now? The method used was "Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed 1pm"

When I worked at the Post Office, our every move was viewed and recorded on CCTV.
It would be almost impossible for a Post Office employee to steal a SD item - and, generally with the lack of banks in towns, PO employees handle very large sums of money, it can be tens of thousands in a short shift so nicking an item, even an expensive one would be very unlikely.
My guess would be this is the buyer, claiming falsely that they received nothing.

But how many Royal mail only posts are there left, all my local ones are staffed by a local shop staff member, just regular shops with a small section used as a post office counter.... Not very secure either, often packages left out in plain site, due to a lack of behind the counter space...
But based on reading through the thread, my guess would be the buyer is my main suspect.

In the report I never said I got an empty box back, I just said that he claimed he got an empty box. I will update the report when I actually get it back

Can I ask what your buyers feedback score is, and is there anything in their feedback profile that indicates that they've done this before (unlikely, as sellers can't leave negative feedback for buyers, but there may be a follow up comment calling them out for something). You mentioned earlier that he has lots of positive reviews.

The FB you should be looking at is FB and comments left for others

Check his left for others feedback also. See what he actually said.

Oops I literally just posted the same thing. But yeah 100% agree. Comments matter more than ratings.

i can just give my experience with a small value item a buyer reported as being missing .
the large letter did arrive with the tape damaged , and while there was no label by royal mail saying it was damaged with them it did show signs that it looked like it got jamed up in the sorting machine . reported it with a photo of the damage and was refunded.
to say something in your favour . the buyer signed for it and did not report any issues regarding damage to the postman upon accepting the parcel which could mean that the buyer tried to scam . i would hold off refunding and report it to bothe royal mail and maybe the police .
the say something in the favour of the buyer . it is possible someone saw what it was along the way and cut it open and had the item . maybe not likely but still possible . i would excpect a refund from the seller and let him deal with royal mail

Excellent news. Is that from Royal Mail or eBay?

Amazing new !!!! could you let us know a little more about what you stated in your appeal, as it could be helpful for other sellers who find themselves in a similar situation.

Ebay ((((((

Just have your receipt with the weight of the package you sent. If its heavy then ebay will know it wasn't an "empty box" that was sent. Also file a report with action fraud, they will ask you to do that.
