Royal Mail Collection Fee

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know about the collection charge for parcels now on Royal Mail?

Sent a couple of items yesterday, collected this morning and just wanted to book one in for collection tomorrow and a 30p charge to collect??

Thanks

Free collection was a long-term special offer.

Royal Mail have now reverted to charging users for this service.

Re: Royal Mail Collection Fee

Going to be too expensive for me.
tonight’s mail alone is going to cost me £3:40 extra to post 8 large letters off .

Can’t afford it

Re: Royal Mail Collection Fee

Yep, the "free collection" offer has now ended.  Unfortunately, eBay don't include this cost, or the cost of packing materials in their mandatory "simple postage" and as usual eBay expects sellers to fund these costs from their earnings in the same way, as in reality, private sellers wear the cost of buyer protection.

When you book the collection you will be charged 30p per item; pay by card or PayPal.

Re: Royal Mail Collection Fee

Royal Mail charges 50p more for items posted via Post office and you won’t be able to use many services. It’s all a bit of a stitch up.

As of today (Wednesday 7th May) collection is still showing as free if you use a Royal Mail Click & Drop account... Of course that's little help if you're a private seller forced into Simple Delivery, but for others reading this it might be an option.
