Royal Mail 2nd-Class Letter – what’s changing and what isn’t

It's a shame that we cannot reply to this ebay announcement.

Is the new delivery schedule now live already?

No. We’ll share a further update when Royal Mail confirms the start date and we will adjust EDDs accordingly to reflect the new schedule.

IME it's been live for 12mths+. Ebay seem to be either in denial or ignorant of just how fast our Royal Mail is deteriorating.

What worries me is that even if ebay do get their act together & tweak their totally broken & unfit for purpose EDD's to reflect this reduced level of service, RM are going to trump them by reducing their level of service even further . . . . !

Found cant even list an item for letter postage. It isnt an option. The default goes to large letter at a whopping 1 kg weight and £2.72 postage gouging for items just a few grams. There is no way to change weight or opt out of SD. The 'work around' is to add the postage to the item and offer free postage which is great as it increases the cost of BPF to buyers needlessly. Basically we cant sell small thin items without overcharging buyers not that they will buy.

I most certainly agree with eBay being seemingly ignorant of the situation.

In our area, it is undeniably obvious that second class post is now taking longer than before.

Even some first class postage items are now not fitting in with the RM alleged timescales.

As you say, it’s time for eBay to take their blindfolds off and come into the real world rather than the unprofessional and delusional one which they currently inhabit.

Same here, used to see the postman at the same time every day out in the street but hardly ever see him now and haven't for at least the last few months.

The wife had to order a new bank card a few weeks ago and they normally turn up in a couple of days but this one took a week! and wonder what's going to happen to peoples NHS letters if they go 2nd class.

Posted 3 2nd class LL's this week and all seem to have been delivered this week but its pretty nerve racking waiting to see if they do.

You have to use the sub category dolls clothing and accessories not dolls and play sets and item must be under £10 (before bpf is added)

Then once you put in your price custom options appear

That is the category I was using and it was a sticky of 1kg and £2.72 large letter no other option. I even started a 'cold' listing not linked to any previous. I will have another play and see if even a letter option is there because some dolls items are very thin although the letter size takes no prisoners hence greeting cards with embellishments had to change.

Er even selecting 'Everything else' and 'other' no details insists the cheapest postage is £2.72 large letter up to 1kg. No letter option.  Tried listing as a stamp and first a small parcel option! then the cheapest change....yup £2.72 to post a stamp!!!!! ridiculous.
