Refunding postage - simple delivery.

Bought two items from the seller.  Asked the seller to combine postage or send an invoice however seller was unable to do either as didn’t understand the process. So paid for both at the same time so two items are on one order. The 2 items have been posted in one parcel  but somehow only one SD label has been generated for £13 postage - I understand it should have been 2 labels produced and then seller uses one and after 14 days the unused one is refunded to buyer.

Spoke to CS who are mystified why only one label for £13 postage produced when it should have been one label for £8 and one for £5.

Anyone have any clues if CS will refund the smaller value label ? Thank you.

As suggested, It might have been easier for the seller to refund & relist the two items as a bundle for you - but this is not a satisfactory solution to the combined shipping issue...

Simple Delivery should not have been introduced until combined shipping was available - and working properly - like it used to with Custom Postage.

If a seller is willing to offer combined postage, but it is Simple Delivery that 'decides' on the discount - if any - it is hardly going to encourage buyers to purchase multiple items, not knowing if there will actually be a discount, or not...!

Yes, it might be worth speaking to CS again, to see if you can get a more helpful response...

As you paid for both items at the same time, ebay generating one label is quite likely.

ebay determines the combined postage cost (unless anything has changed very recently) and this time apparently decided there was no discount.

You needed the seller to combine both items into one listing and set the postage before buying.  There is no sensible way to combine postage after purchase.  Ebay claims to do it sometimes but has no idea what the combined postage would be.

Thank you. I will take up with CS - as the higher postage was for a jacket - so expected the cheaper postage to be refunded as only a light cotton blouse  which would barely make a difference to parcel size or weight.

Definitely a rubbish system.

Just an update - spent a long chat with CS, eventually escalated to supervisor and was given a £5 voucher. Parcel arrived and I checked size and weight - would have likely fitted as small parcel track 24 - anyway generously assumed it would more likely be medium (borderline size) but definitely under 1 kg - track 24 medium £6.05 - eBay SD combined to charge £12.97 - robbery tbh. So feel somewhat vindicated in complaining but had to persist.

Totally unacceptable for both seller and buyers.  Its ridiculous that buyers are having to use this new postage system which is not fit for purpose!

I can't even generate a signed for delivery anymore for my buyers!
