Refunding buyer

I have accepted a return of item as the buyer described the item as not working. The machine arrived back with me and works perfectly fine and they have also used the descaler that comes with the kit. EBay are now insisting I refund the buyer. Once I refund the buyer I will have lost money due to the return label, having to buy more descaler and loss of selling to a genuine buyer. Do I have to refund the buyer. EBay said if not done in 2 days they will take the money themselves and refund

No you don't have to, but if you don't ebay will do it with your money and give you a defect.

You can report the buyer for abuse of the money back guarantee,  that's all.

Yep, sorry, you do have to refund . Nothing you can do about this one 🙁

And do it quickly- like within 48 hours of getting your item back...
