Problem with track48 serial YA Royal Mail

I bought a track48 label through eBay and this morning a nice lady at the Post Office said that track48 with the YA number is not accepted and that I should contact the seller. does anyone have a similar problem? did ebay uk sell me a fake label?

I will be out of pocket with simply delivery as buyer paid for label, they
get refund not me.

That's a good point. Many sellers will be out of pocket as their buyers will be receiving the refund for the original unused SD label.

What steps (if any) will Ebay be taking to refund the sellers that did not receive payment for postage but have ended up paying for it anyway?

The packages should get scanned directly they arrive at the mail centre as it is Horizon post office problem with scanning not Royal Mail main distribution centres. Most post offices have been told to accept packages but as unable to scan to give a simple receipt and that when package arrives at area Royal Mail centre they will get scanned.

HI @goodibags ,

If you purchased another label as the original SD one did not work then you will need to  customer support who can review and process a manual refund.

Took three YA parcels to post office this morning. Scanned as normal, so seems to be fixed.

Of the three I posted yesterday only one has updated at the hub, the other two still say "we're expecting it" which is a bit worrying considering I don't have a receipt for them.

Just an update my package I sent yesterday was just picked up by tracking at 10.47am at a central hub

Just printed one now, 11:15 on 05/08/2025. Showing as YA code.

One of my items I let the post office accept on Sunday has now an updated message that its progressing through the local MC so that's reassuring but the other one I did on the same day is still showing that I haven't posted it, when I have. Not good

kat@ebay do you know what will happen if this never arrives and I've no proof I posted it as it could not be provided.

I had to use my own courier yesterday so spent this morning trying to figure out what i had to do. The new eBay system is becoming difficult to naviage around.

That was a morning's worth of work !! Thanks Royal Mail !
