Privacy Concerns - ebay access to 'my pictures'

Hi everyone - the other day I saved an item, as it was the same as I intend to list.  I'm sure others do this as well.  I just wanted to compare the back of the pictures to my ones.  Anyway, the seller made an offer.   I thanks them and politely declined saying the reason and that I would come back ... just to 'chat' sort of thing/pass on information.  I have tried to do that, but unable to complete the box that's available.  At the bottom of the long oblong box is a little square .... I clicked on it, and it showed my own images, taken by me and stored on my PC.  I feel most concerned that ebay or anyone else can access my private details in this way.  Has this happened to anyone else please?

You clicked an upload image button within the messaging system. It works like any other upload image button on any other website in the world. It doesn’t have access to your images it’s a browser based feature that simply loads up a logical folder on your computer.eBay won’t see any images unless you chose to attach and send them.

Thank you ever so much.  It's really kind of you to have told me this.  I didn't know what it meant and so clicked on it.  I did this because I don't seem to be able to contact the seller and complete my earlier reply to them.  I don't suppose you would happen to know why I'm unable to enter any text?  I confess to being somewhat dim, as I'm no 'spring chicken'!  Many thanks and kind regards ....

Hi - it'll depend what device you are using.

For example on desktop, the messsgaging now looks like this - you just have to type the message in the box, then click the paper airplane.

Other devices like mobile or in the mobile app may look different.
