Posting big/heavy items as a private seller

Hi,

Im a private seller with an item to sell that exceeds the weight and size limit offered by simple delivery. Im happy to use my own courier i just dont want to put myself in a position where my order isn't covered as its quite valuable? Any advice would be appreciated

You need to do a bit of research to find a courier that covers the item you plan to sell and make sure you pay sufficient postage to cover the value.  Check any exclusions - many couriers don't cover, for example, glass items or antiques.

When you post the item, make sure you add the tracking.

Really, for larger parcels, the system has not been changed by Simple Delivery.

Except that ebay does not allow you to access custom delivery without using my workaround:  https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Seller-Central/how-do-you-list-anything-bigger-than-61cm/td-p/788244...
