Payment hold

Hi Ebayers,

I just paid for postage for an item I sold and then a few minutes later I got an email telling me payments are on hold again!

This is on Ebay's UK site. I completed the micropayment bank account thing last year.

Seems Ebay doesn't like my bank account or debit card for account payments, but are perfectly happy with them for buying items. There is money in my bank account and I have been listing every couple of days and selling a few items weekly for the last year or so. I think this is an issue with Ebay rather than with my account.

It happened again after Ebay assured me it wouldn't. Last time I spent hours online with the chat bots and then more time on hold on the phone. Think I ended up chatting with 5 or 6 different people.

Is this a glitch? Will it ever get fixed?

Re: Payment hold

Don't think it's a glitch but perhaps something missing from your selling account set up.  You do need CS to investigate this for you.

I know you've spoken to several CS agents,  but the sad truth is,  you do have to get a ' good un'  to answer some questions!

I strongly recommend contacting CS 8 a.m. on a weekday when the lines open for ' live agents' as then, there's more chance of Dublin answering.

This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5190

Lines open 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. on weekdays

9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekends.

Automated agents will be available on chat outside of the above hours.

Re: Payment hold

Update... Just spoke to Ebay customer help and they told me it has happened because it's the new year and they make everyone do this again every year.

There was no explanation about this in any of the previous messages from Ebay, just some generic stuff about my debit card and bank account not being available for payouts and payments.

They escalated the issue and put me on hold and told me to add the same bank account. Did that and the problem still persists. They also told me that when we did the micro payments last year they couldn't get the few pence back from my bank.

My Ebay account is now saying my everything is on hold for 48 hours even though I only added the same bank details.

They will call me back tomorrow. Stay tuned for the next exciting instalment.

Which bank is the account held with?

Obviously don't post your bank account details here...just the name of the bank like Lloyds, Natwest, Barclays etc.

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.

Re: Payment hold

It's a normal large UK high street bank. Visa card and all that.

Re: Payment hold

So the hold was sorted and then it came back after a couple of days. I just tried to add the Visa debit card again following Ebay's info. Ebay's system added the card and then dumped me to a generic "We Cannot Find That Page" error and then I was suddenly in Ebay USA's part of the website.

Pretty sure the issue is something to do with Ebay's systems, rather than my card or bank. This is very similar to the issues I had last year.

Oh well... Time to phone Ebay again and sit on hold.

Re: Payment hold

I’m going through the same thing and I don’t know how I can fix it. It’s been months now since I sold my items and I haven’t received my money for it even after verifying my identity
