Hello everyone, I've just checked my emails to see that eBay have completely scrapped fees for private sellers. I want to know what everyone thinks about this?
in my opinion this is unfair on business sellers as we will now be competing with traders who register as a private seller to avoid fees who can now offer lower pricing since they aren't paying nearly 20% in transaction fees.
I think they need to offer a fee reduction for business sellers also as we are hugely disadvantaged now.
all they have offered for business sellers is:

And to top it all. Ebay are now threatening to withhold payments until you enter details for the Inland Revenue. We live in a controlled state driven by lies, greed and manipulation of the truth.

I do not sell on eBay, But as a buyer, of cheap products, I feel this additional charge ( call it, what they may), Surely why have I got to pay this percentage + the fixed charge, I am now, not looking at Buying any goods, Now, because they have outpriced the items, Good luck to the seller who wants, top dollar, for a second hand Item !!!

Good points but also can add that due to simple delivery it is postage only. So it is suggested to add packing charges onto your item price. However this increases the buyers protection cost which all go to ebay. Might only be a few pennies but when all added up it definitely doesn't become 'free' to sell.

I use eBay occasionally to sell my music gear etc. Not sure about the whole fee dropping thing. Now they make you pay “Buyer protection fee” so in reality they didn’t drop the fees, just gave it a different name. Cheap marketing trick

Its *bleep*, wish I never listened to the snot noses on here and just stayed on a private account. The amount ebay take is maddening, especially with all the *bleep* we have to put up with in order to actually sell anything.
Vinted is set to destroy ebay, and quite easily. No need for a "business" account, no fees. Someone offers you 50 quid, and you get 50 quid in your bank. Its that simple. On ebay every order has about ten different totals/figures depending on which webpage you look at the numbers from. Impossible to work anything out.
Its so nice just making a sale, sending it, and receiving the full amount with no nasty surprises. Ebay seems able to surprise me on every single order when I see the amount they rip me off. All the *bleep* features they have implemented recently, and they want us to pay for the privilege! No thanks!

eBay’s fees are a freaking scam. Charging % off of total cost (sale price + shipping + taxes) is unethical and disgusting. Such a bunch of bull*bleep*. I’m done listing items on eBay.
