Hello …. Does anyone know for certain what happens to the postage paid by the buyer and I do not print off the postage label (supplied by eBay) and chose instead to pay my local post office for postage out of own pocket ?
I am finding eBay rather confusing and things do not happen on the dates they give out.
Thanks in anticipation of any reply

As the buyer pays for the postage label I assume that they get the refund, there's got to be some kind of deterrent that eBay have come up with to discourage sellers from using their own postage method.
But, to be honest, I haven't got a clue what's going on with Simple Delivery. They keep changing the info on the guidance pages on a daily basis, so at the moment it's all guesswork.

I have seen it posted on here that if the listing said the buyer will pay the postage, the buyer purchases the postage from ebay and ebay then forward the postage label to the seller, but if it is not used because the seller does their own postage label, it is refunded back to the buyer at some future point.
If the listing said the seller will pay the postage, they are forced to purchase the postage from ebay but if they do their own postage label the seller should get the ebay postage refunded at some future point.
What I am still unsure about is whether, if the seller doesn't use the ebay postage label and purchases their own, whether they can put their tracking code against the item or if ebay's postage label tracking code is fixed and cannot be overwritten.

You will pay for the postage out of your money and the buyer will not have paid any money for delivery. You will also not be covered via eBay's Money Back Guarantee as the shipping will not be attached to the order.

Why do you keep posting things like this almost every day?
You have participated in many discussions around this issue, and you know the answer perfectly well.

That is not my reading of it at all. From the info eBay have given, it seems they will simply keep the money.

I AM SEEKING AN ANSWER TO QUESTION, NOT SARCASTIC COMMENT.

You should make sure all your listings that are eligible to be are custom postage
check every day to see if eBay have changed this and change it back
it seems quite a few of your listings are eligible to ignore simple delivery
things over 100g and £10 you will have no choice but to send with simple delivery
all we can do is muddle through until ebay get their act together which allegedly is going to be by end of the month
wouldn’t worry too much about it all
.lifes too short
and ebays one might end up shorter
🤣🤣🤣

...an answer which you already know, perfectly well. You are simply attempting to stir up anti-eBay feeling, as most of your "original" posts do.

Where have you read that they will keep the money? It seems unlikely that that would be the way it's handled.

So as I thought, an unused label will be refunded. Wish people would stop scaremongering!
