No views on a few small private items 10th july 2024

Hi, just as my title says, i have listed about 5 small items,  and I am getting no views. I listed them about 4 days ago. Can anyone inform me what is going on?

I can see the five items on your account showing.

The way views are calculated changed a while ago, this link here explains all:

Lots of people look at Ebay using the App to scroll on their phones.

They might see your items as they scroll but a view only shows if they click on the item.

Please don't think I am being rude - I believe in kind constructive criticism - but your photos are really quite poor.

The first item I saw was the earrings - in the picture, they look like confetti rather than a pair of earrings and there are so few words in your title that your items will not be picked up in searches.

So, use better quality pictures that focus on the items for sale, and use longer titles.

Selling costume jewellery is tough at the moment - you need good pictures and a detailed description.

Only my opinion, but I have been selling on here for 20 years so I hope it helps.

Continuing with the theme of constructive advice ...

If you can do it without the pictures getting fuzzy and out of focus, I would crop the pictures of the earrings and the brooch so that they virtually fill the frame; they get lost as is. Crop the pictures to a square shape, especially for the first picture. (The first picture is the one that everyone sees when scrolling; square pictures appear larger.)

Again the earrings and the brooch, I would include something in one of the photos (probably not the first photo) to give scale; a pound coin perhaps? This won't get more views but it may avoid a return on grounds of "it's smaller than I thought" or "it's bigger than I thought." I know you quote measurements but it is worth doing the picture as well. The brooch I think is actually larger than it looks in the photo.

The gold blue and green necklase I would shuffle the pictures round so that the first picture shows the whole item.

All just IMHO and intended to be helpful.

By the way, I like the use of your hand to give scale. Those pink earrings are actually larger, more chunky than I thought from your earlier photo.

It is because ebay is dead, it is the same with me had no sales in days on here so lucky i made a few sales away from ebay lately. Best to try somewhere else.

eBay haven't bothered to fully index them due to having too many items to deal with all in one go from 1000's of other sellers.

You may have to take them down and  then relist them again at a more quieter time for them to get through the indexing stage and be visible to your buyers otherwise they will remain ghosted !
