Re: New Buyer Fee

It's just put the prices up so people are less likely to buy.

That it makes it hard to bid as you can't automatically work out increments to be able to get the bets price.

As a seller I've had to reduce prices. As a buyer, I can't believe bothered to bid anymore and am only buying on buy it now.

So no none of this was to increase sales to private sellers.

Re: New Buyer Fee

And they're not providing the correct postage.

Trying to sell.a high priced item. No option to be able to insure the item to the correct value.

So is eBay protecting us if things go astray or just the buyer? £20 standard cover doesn't help us with the carrier.

Re: New Buyer Fee

Yep I can get the shipping cheaper, I do t want simple delivery.

And neither are they giving correct postage for high priced items.

I'm expected to trust eBay if a £300 item goes missing when it only has £20 cover? Hmmm ebay sux evermore

Re: New Buyer Fee

It's over twice as much as the seller was paying, why did they double the fees?

It's just means we have to reduce the sales price to get sales. It's not viable or sustainable to be a private seller.its just another way for eBay to devalue our goods

How do you work that out?

Private Sellers used to pay 13.22% + 30p per transaction.

The Buyer Protection Fee is up to 7% + up to 10p per item, so most of the time will be significantly less.

For items that are eligible for Simple Delivery eBay provides cover against loss or damage in transit for the full value of the item.   Buyers are refunded at no cost to the seller.

All bids are inclusive of the Buyer Protection Fee so all you need to do is bid the maximum you wish to pay.

Re: New Buyer Fee

Actually all they have done is shift the fees onto the buyer under a different guise. When you list an item for sale it adds this buyers fee to the purchase price which makes it higher than what you listed it for and at an awkward odd amount. Sellers may end up decreasing their list price because of this and then well nothing has really changed! It is marketing BS.

If you use Simple Delivery,  items are insured  for the full price,  up to a maximum amount of £750.
