Negative Feedback

Ebays feedback policy is heavily flawed, it doesn’t help when customer services have different viewpoints on what should be allowed and what won’t be allowed. Ebay’s policy on feedback removal Has 3 sections extortion, manipulation, misuse. There is also a section which clearly states that if negative feedback is left and the situation is out of your control ebay will look at it case by case. This is technically not the case. What a large number of customer services staff do is play on the words that have been left on the feedback. Then you find out about the god policy which is being used to determine what can and can’t be removed same issue again play on words. Customer services have been told that with negative feedbacks that they are not to removed if the situation is out of the sellers control.

The god policy for ebay is when a severe, unanticipated natural event for which no human is responsible.  So if your item was damaged due to bad weather, a natural event it should be removed (wrong). The way it is looked at is that the item was in transit and there for the fault is with the courier. The god policy is used on the section were the situation is out of the sellers control.

For sellers that run a business online or even if you’re a casual seller, ebay customer service have no problem in having your account feedback destroyed, which does affect the sellers.

The appeals process to have feedback looked into is done behind closed doors. The whole idea of having a appeals process is that you can put your case across. Customer services are supposed to take down information for you to build a strong case to overturn the outcome. This doesn’t happen as the god policy is used, which in essence all sellers big and small are in a no win situation. A policy (god policy) that is being used that isn’t even on the help section.

Negative Feedback

Without commenting on your particur circumstances, it is very obvious to us and eBay that the feedback system is not fit for purpose. It's high time it was scrapped altogether.
