AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Agree Lucy...time was I was selling/buying 20-30 things a month on here...now it's 4-5.
Ebay - you do the maths.....

Agreed, This place is become a total control freak. BP - SD and they then say free to sell. (Really). Sales are falling everyday. The buzz of Ebay has gone what ever was left EbaY have shot it down.

They should be able to do the math as I think accountants and lawyers are the only people they hire. It surely isnt support or programmers. Now if they could just hire a CEO that isnt only marking the calendar days off until the multi million pound bonus is available to cash.

The shambles continues...
Last night tried "potching" around with one of my listings (pair of trainers, which ebay had changed) just to see if I could work around this lack of postage options...no luck, just the stupid simple delivery options.
Have just gone to change the same item back to the "correct" size...low and behold i'm getting all the usual postage choices?
Seriously, ebay is jut an absolute mess...Cannot believe how amateurish the whole roll-out of these changes has been from supposedly such a big company (big company/small brain).

I've still got some pending transactions awaiting delivery that I posted yesterday that I will respend in time.
I've noticed ebay have started sending notifications to my phone for when my items are delivered to buyers but I really don't care as I don't track orders to completion. I just remove them from my sold list once posted and trust the buyer will raise an issue of they don't get it. As a buyer I'd be happy for sellers to take the same pragmatic approach.
Ebay might think I am engaged enough to be tracking those payments but I really can't be bothered it's easier to just maintain a general sense of frustration with ebay without dwelling on the details of when sale payments happen.
Ebay don't seem to have a clue what buyers and sellers care about- they live in their own stupid dream world.

The main thing though whilst "old-ebay" burns to the ground is that according to my notifications i've earned the "250 replies badge 👍🏻"....will I be getting that in the post via evri?
Honestly, what planet are the people running this place from?

My main concern with SD is the delivery-handling time. All items need to be delivered in 2-3 days, even for standard delivery. How can this be done?
We should be able to choose our own handling times depending on our location, personal circumstances and experiences etc. Now you even don't have enough time to wrap your parcel ( are not all pre-packed waiting to be sold)
Hope eBay can adjust this as it was before: would SD a little less complicated.

I wish buyers would leave feedback when they receive their item ,I sent an item last week first class but royal mail still say update will only be provided when we attempt to deliver your item . So now unless things change I don't get my payment until 2nd july . I can't believe that the buyer hasn't received the item especially 1st class.

It is like being back at school

I think the feedback system is pretty broken along with every other aspect of Ebay UK right now. When they tell you to leave feedback for the buyer and it takes you to a page with a single "Positive" button, that says it all. Are they now hiring 10 year olds to do their programming work? I guess it was a school night and they didnt have enough time to add the "Negative" button and the rest of the page before nap time.

As a seller all you are allowed to do is leave positive feedback. Been like that for a very long time.
24-06-2025 1:54 PM
Yup I am aware. I guess they didnt want to pay someone to finish it by adding that negative button as all their extra money must be going to senior management bonuses this year for the great work they have been doing to elevate ebay UK to the next level.

Ebay used to allow sellers to leave negative feedback for buyers but they removed the option as it was just being abused - resulted in feedback extortion and tit for tat feedback.

Its not feedback if ebay removes the choice to rate the transaction. It is now just a positive button that adds to the number next to their username and has nothing to do with feedback at all. It is ebay yet again manipulating and removing seller options for their own benefit, in this case removing the negative button entirely.

Well said! Wait till winter! I live in a rural area, up a single track road with no passing places and 2 steep hills. I don’t know when I list if I will be able to get out in 2 days because of icy roads. Like many others I won’t be listing until this ridiculous Simple Delivery fiasco is abandoned.

As a seller, I only leave feedback for buyers once the seller has left feedback for me, and therefore I know they have received the item and are happy with it. Reminders from eBay reminding me to do so are ignored.

Quite so. The change was entirely logical, because sellers abused the system and buyers would never ever do that. Never. Never at all.
