NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I don't know what happens if you don't mark as dispatched before the three days, but it won't be good!!

It will have an effect on seller levels for late delivery, going below the minimum standards risks ebay placing 'limitations' on an account.

NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Thank goodness there’s someone else who still isn’t selling.  There must be others of us surely who don’t have the word Mug tattooed on our head,  but bearing in mind the number of posts on this massive thread where people are outlining the increasingly complicated methods they are using to beat the system it seems our refusal to list at all hasn’t dented eBay’s determination to steam roller it through. They will continue to do so until listings dry up altogether and this will never occur whilst those who have been regular sellers continue to list despite their justifiable complaints being ignored.

For me had simple delivery been what the name implied and delivered on its promises I would have happily carried on listing. I don’t object at all to eBay levying a charge on buyers and sellers - all auction houses do - but I do object to the convoluted way they’ve chosen to do it, the problems it’s caused for buyers like myself and the lies they have told in order to promote its introduction

NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Well I’m not sure eBay knows this but we are not Amazon, the orders will arrive when they arrive.

I’m sorry. As a private seller myself. I try my best to get it out same or next day.

But unfortunately it isn’t as simple as just posting it. One has to take into account how it’ll be posted which will add on to the time it takes to be dispatched and delivered.

After it’s out of my hands, there is little else I can do, other than to keep an eye on tracking and the occasional email or phone call if a buyer raises a query about it being stuck in transit or goes on a wander.

Even if you use a special delivery service eg next day. That’s not a definite guarantee because of weather and traffic conditions.
Basicaly what my point is. Yeah eBay can sit back with the feet up on the table dictating us to post within three days. Not taking into account if that is even possible. For some yeah but others they might have a lot going on, or a postal strike, delivery drivers have a lot to process through etc all of which requires more time given to post and deliver.
Like I said we are not Amazon with an army at hand to deliver stuff. It’s not feasible to expect that kind of service from a private seller.

NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I' ve just posted probably my last sold item, still custom, but I see I've been changed today, so no more. When I took to post office I was telling them about ebays shenanigans, charging £2.72 for £1.55 postage, and he said they hardly have anything eBay anymore, then showed me a huge pile of stuff. He said it was all vinted!!

NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I don't understand this. I just opt out on the listing. Still R.M.

Took everything off and have slowly put back.  all sales but R.M., print my own labels and off to the P.O.

But more, having been on and off this year on eBay, due to B.P.F. and S.D. and moving house.

Find my life changed and do I want to do this anymore?.

eBay have shot themselves in the foot.

AMMENDMENT ___ - I am still selling using R.M. , I can change delivery options, I produce my own labels, I take to my local P.O. Sales are definitely random and occasionally.

NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

So up until yesterday I was using the advanced tool to select my OWN choice of postage. Now that option of choice has finally disappeared for me too!

just had a rant to a ebay colleague on the chat, and asked how they can charge me more than Royal Mail were charging? Basically it’s to give sellers more protection & full tracking if any parcel gets damaged or lost in transit 😂🙄 I explained that what I was buying from Royal Mail already gave me tracking and compensation which was standard for small parcels in the price! so why do we need to pay ebay more for same service? Is this even legal?

the representative I spoke to suggested to avoid ‘simple delivery’ which btw means thought up by simpletons 😂 was to open a business account, yet I’m only selling my personal items. I’m confused with her advice, she said there was no criteria for changing to a business seller…when I asked what the difference was between private and business sellers…she’d left the chat 🙄

It still allows you to do custom postage when the item is £10.  If you were selling an item for £40, could you put the item price as £10 and then do custom postage for £30?  You would be covered, because you would have proof of postage from Royal Mail and you have cover for £150 with RM48?

Under £10 and letter sized are exempt - if over letter size its SD.

Someone's brought 4 items and super SD has produced a £1.27 label!

Yes. I am not sure you understood my message though - if you want £40 for an item and you don't want to use SD, you could put the price as £10 and then the postage price at £30.

We started paying a fee on postage as sellers wanted to charge £10 for the item and £30 postage to avoid FVFs. It probably won't be long before ebay picks up on attempts to avoid simple delivery. I have no idea how they'll deal with it, but they will think of something.

NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

What a horrible change this is. Today was forced on me as well as I was looking at selling a few items and I just gave up. Absolute greed from eBay to overcharge for postage. I used to pay 3.45 per parcel up to 2 Kilograms and have it collected and now it says it costs me 3.94 (Up to 1KG) and 4.48 (Up to 2KG) plus I would have to separately book a collection through Royal Mail that costs an additional 0.30. Ridiculous. There was no reason why not to run Custom Postage along the Simple Delivery and give sellers multiple options, but greed is eBay's new priority I guess.

I don't think so, I think the amount of postage you set is restricted to make it reasonable. I think you get a message pop up as invalid , but you can try it.

That doesn't seem to be the case. Under £10 let's you chose your own delivery in costume jewelry.  It actually gives a message saying SD unavailable for this category.  All other categories I use allow you to choose if under £10.
