only private sellers have to use SD so maybe register as a business and you will not have to suffer it.

You are trading on the wrong account, upgrade correctly to a business account then the new rules will not apply, only snag selling fees are much higher!

what is it with all these 'business' (pseudo private) sellers complaining about SD.  Answer is simple, use the business account and you can choose your own postage

100% Agreed, This is what a scam looks like. All users need to freeze selling until changes are reversed BP and SD.

Given you are a small business - perhaps you should be setup as a business account?

How do you know the item wasn't located in Sheffield as advertised?  An item can be stored in a different place/country to where the seller is based.

All the contact details were in China. It would be odd if an item was located in and posted from Sheffield, but if there was a problem I'd have a ring a number in China, or email them in China, or write to them in China.

There, fixed that for you.  All these business sellers gloating over the problems private sellers are having, they're going to have a nasty shock when the leopard finds there's no private sellers' faces to eat, and there's an increasing money grab from the business sellers.

Doubtless the MusicMagpies, the WorldOfBooks and other giant box shifters will get special dispensations, but the rest of you...

Ebay isn't too big to fail and be rescued like a bank.  Remember Little Chef?  Green Shield stamps?  MySpace?  Kodak??  ...

Indeed, with the latest news about the promo fees rules changing, I'd suggest that money grab is already in progress.

My recent experience as a seller was trying to sell my old mobile phone. I listed it for one week and it sold for £64. The buyer immediately asked to cancel the order. I agreed and relisted it for a further week. It sold for £60 and again the (different) buyer asked to cancel the order. I was going to relist it at BIN £55 but it seems that to do that I can only use Simple Delivery or at least thats the only method I could see. So my phone is gathering dust in the corner now. I've made good money on Ebay for 17 years but it seems they no longer want me around.

To be fair the response was to a 'private' seller who outed themselves as a business in their post as below.

"Its absolutely not been taken into account at all!! Its absolutely *bleep* for our small business now (artificial flower designs) as we are definitely losing money as there's just no bloody options for postage prices especially on our items that have variants or more than one item the postage would go up accordingly to suit the weight/size etc."

Business sellers don't have a problem with genuine private sellers, it's those take advantage of private accounts that any flack is directed to. If ebay were to deal with the issue rather than paying lip service then

things would be a lot more peaceful round here. As for gloating about what's happened to private sellers there have been many of us posting on how bad the changes have been. As business sellers we saw the

consequences of SD, BPF and monetary holds and if May is anything to go by we are seeing those consequences come true. Also we never expected ebay to ignore business sellers in their latest money grab - it has been just waiting to see how soon it would come and what form it would take.

NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I've just come back from holiday after 7 weeks away, ended all my listings the day before I left and only 33 were still showing in the unsold section when I came back. So much for them being visible between 60/90 days. Won't use simple either total con, Ebay used to be great when they charged a small selling fee but ever since they've introduced all these restrictive conditions I'm afraid that after 22 years I too will no longer sell on here. Looking at opening a web page shop that way I get the money straight away, none of this waiting nonsense holding our cash to ransom just so Ebay can earn off the interest.

Seriously folks, think about alternative sights that are out there and are more private seller friendly.

This system really is a nightmare for both sellers and buyers, the items I used to sell were pretty much all small parcel size coming in at £3.39 for royal mail tracked, buyers were happy as was i if offering free postage.

Too be fair, I'd say upgrading to a Business account is more applicable to you, it looks like you have had a lot more sales than I have...... But as you have taken it upon yourself to Police eBay for "Seller Infractions", I will be sure to contact you first,to check it's ok to list my Items on eBay,and I'm not doing anything wrong to upset you, until then ,I suggest you check the facts before you stick your nose into what other people do with their listings and start accusing people of.... I've been trying to sell the same CDs for about 2 years ,they just keep relisting over and over again, but I'm no where near to the amount of sales you have had, a wise person once told me, people who live in glass House's shouldn't throw stones!

What was the reason for the partial refund?  The Buyer Protection Fee should have been refunded pro rata but the cost of the Simple Delivery label would only be refunded if the item was lost or damaged in transit.
