AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Unfortunately....you can not take anything the eBay Agents say as fact.... I think they are genuinely trying to help, but unfortunately, each one can can give you different advice, and that advice may not be correct, and they ain't there when it goes wrong, or the ones having to deal with the problems there advice can bring you.... If in doubt,do nowt...!!

It would be easier to list the items that Evri DO carry - seems you can't even send postage stamps or photographs!!!

Evri do carry all the things on the exclusion list : they just won't pay any compensation for those items if they get lost or damaged in the post.
(the prohibited list is the stuff couriers won't carry)
To be perfectly honest, Royal Mail's exclusion list is pretty long as well !
(But that's why RM offer Special delivery for expensive breakables...)

I sold an item and it was damaged in transit. Ebay were asked to step in to settle matter - they issued a return label to the buyer and debited my account for the full amount of the sale plus postage. I have to bear the loss despite Ebay's stated terms " Ebay assumes liability once package handed over to courier". Obviously I am not going to repeat this and will no longer sell on Ebay, unless it is collected - I might as well use facebboook MP.............

Was this a Simple Delivery sale?
If so, what was the item? (could it have been something on the Ex. list?)

I've been a casual seller on Ebay for 22 years and I am shocked at how difficult it is to get items sold now! The new postage, buyer protection and pay-out changes have absolutely killed the platform. Items that would usually sell with a week are now not even getting views, let alone watchers.
On top of that I'm having to do mathematical gymnastics to figure out how much I want to sell an item for as the price I enter is not the price a buyer sees. I also now have to wait 2 days AFTER DELIVERY for payment!
I simply don't understand what Ebay are doing. JUST KEEP THINGS THE SAME AS THEY WERE! All this obfuscating fees and delivery charges is underhanded and makes sellers and buyers more wary of the process. Off to another platform then.

You get paid 2 days after delivery, if the Postman or Delivery person can be bothered to get a signature, or mark the package as delivered..... !!! Then, if it's not shown as delivered, you have to write to the Buyer, and ask them to leave you Positive Feedback to get a Payout.... So you have to hope/pray the Buyer will do that for you....!!

And yes....I have noticed exactly the same thing....zero views on items, and the occasional "Watcher"..... No last minute loads of bids of different bidder's.... It's very strange, I actually phoned eBay last year thinking there was something wrong with my account, and it wasn't showing up , but no, apparently it's fine.... I remember up too a few years back, even if items didn't sell, there would be plenty of views on all of them, and "Watchers".... I'm pretty sure people implementing changes at eBay ain't selling on here...!

"Simple Delivery" this is doublespeak! Rubbish system to confuse all private sellers. Mu daughter tried to sell some of her trinkets. She does her listing from her phone and she noticed that the seller paid £0.87 for postage but she got charged £1.50. Shambles

Yes tracked 24 /48 is good with RM . I sell some delicate items and I go into our local mountain warehouse store and ask them for their empty boxes which had boots /trainers in and they put all their used polythene bags in a large sack which they then dispose of so I take these bags of bags too as they make excellent padding in packages and one bag of bags goes quite a long way ,I also get the empty wine boxes that tesco put out for customers to take ,I also ask in B & Ms for their empty boxes and they are always happy for me to take them . A seller here in my town posted a ceramic chess set to a buyer but he just sent it in a bit of bubble wrap and in a flimsy box ,so it all got smashed the seller wasn't happy nor was the buyer . I think people think that the post men /women know what is in parcels and that they handle everything with kid gloves which of course is not so ,people have to take responsibility to how they package their items because couriers like DPD don't care they just throw things about any way they want .

I purchased something which was delivered by the seller , rather than posting it
I left feedback no problem but seller still didn’t get paid because no tracking was provided
I phoned eBay to confirm deliver and stated I was very happy
unfortunately they can’t do or change anything seller has to wait but eventually will get paid

I simply don't understand what Ebay are doing.
I think it's clear what ebay are doing - milking every last penny they can from it's customer base.
A reseller called Flipping Sloth put a video on You Tube yesterday titled 'Ebay - taking the urine' (well it was called something like that) and in the video he said that Ebay's numbers show that there are 9% less people buying on the site but ebay's profits are going up.
The four major changes they've announced so far in 2025 - Buyers Purchasing Fee, private sellers monies delay, simple delivery and the changes to promotion fees from 24th June - don't enhance the buyer/seller experience but sure do enhance ebay's profits.
It's doubtful that any of the changes have attracted people to the site but all will have, to some unknown degree yet, driven people away from the site or made them reduce their Ebay activities.
Makes you wonder what ebay will come up with next but you can guarantee it will cost sellers and buyers money.

Looks like there's an option now for up to 100g letters, maybe handy for people who sell stamps ect
25-05-2025 8:14 PM
Woopi Do Da !!, so 100g is £ 2.72 on Fleecebay, where as upto 250g RM Stamps is £ 2.00 and with a P.O.P includes upto £ 20.00 insurance Ummmm so no need for any extra protection from Fleecebay.
25-05-2025 8:22 PM
Strange as I had a positive feedback and money released soon after.
25-05-2025 8:24 PM
I am convinced that Fleecebay do not now what they are doing.

Yes, items under £10 and under 100g that will fit into a letter can be exempt from 'Simple Delivery' and they're the only items that I am now selling on eBay - I can post them for just 87p and get a free proof of posting from Royal Mail in case of loss. Everything else that I have, over 500 items, are now only available on my bus map website.

You have obviously never read my posts! Ever since this began i said i would never use SD. In fact i took everything off on the 7th in anticipation that e bay would actually be keeping to their stated time, i put them back on a few weeks ago (made 3 sales that i would not have made). They made SD the only choice but i was able to work around that, now i cannot. So when the items i have on are switched permanently i will be gone. No 'sitting on the fence' at all, never has been, never will be. Managed payments, BPF and waiting for the money, all those i was prepared to give a chance to see how they work. NOT this farce of SD.

100% Agree with you @kath3735_wxmjn . Ebay is a scam place now. SD and BP scammers.
