AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Got a questionnaire from eBay asking my opinion on my resent sales (2). One question was how was your selling experience, I couldn't use the words I wanted to but ticked very disappointing and I went on to say I don't like SD and the buyer protection thing. Then on a scale 0-10 how likely would I be to recommend eBay to someone I know......................ZERO.

In the new announcement ebay say they want to help private sellers get their money sooner by extending the limit to £750 if the buyer leaves positive feedback, but they are the ones that brought in delayed pay outs, making us wait longer. If they really want to help private sellers access their selling proceeds sooner - pay us after the buyer pays, like it was before.
They are the problem and now they're pretending they want to help us! Total b/s, propaganda, brain-washing, hoping we'll forget that they are the ones that extended the wait for private sellers to access their money in the first place!

Great post. I genuinely wish I could honestly say positive things and honestly say I would gladly recommend this site to people I know.
However, the fact is I can't truthfully say positive things and cannot honestly say I would recommend here to anyone I know as things are at present.

I agree with everything. We've had no say whatsoever regarding these enforced changes.
That's why I'm just happy waiting to see how things unfold.
Seeing the figures for the second quarter could definitely be interesting.

New announcements out now. SD pushed back further, considering changes to parcels, combined postage, RM bring labels for collection. Things are changing they are listening to someone maybe us?

A massive lot of changes dressed up to look as if it's their idea cannot admit to listening to us but they have, sadly this is still going to go on for a long time and we are still in limbo

This is now officially very silly, I've just sold a large letter item listed with custom postage at RM LL 2nd class signed for ( I have stamps to use up) counter price plus 20p p&p.
Item was a vintage novelty pillow case for £8.50 weight 90gram
Apparently looking at the invoice the customer has been given the option to change to rm 48hr (new one on me) ebay has charged them £4.40 rm small parcel 48.
No way would I list a LL as small parcel
I have also received the gross amount to my account.
Therefore overcharging my customer for unnecessary service.
I will now refund the buyer the excess.
Simple my blo*dy a*se
Are they making it up as they go along

I can't see any end to the changes being made as things progress. It could end up being never ending which wouldn't be great.

You are so right. Apparently what we've been saying on this thread and many other threads for weeks, has now supposedly become their idea. Plus it's only taken since 31st March to be told that they are listening.
06-05-2025 7:55 PM
To me this 'listening' is so fake as they're only giving something they know won't cost them much, such as releasing money when a buyer leaves positive feedback, I rarely get feedback for a sold item from a buyer, so this supposed 'listening' is complete b/s.
They know that in 9 times out of 10, they'll keep hold of the money for the full duration because the buyer won't leave feedback.

It would really be great if all of this discord led to this. But at no time will we be given any praises. It will no doubt be worded as though they thought of and made the changes. But many people who have posted will know differently.

Yes, they're making it up as they go along.
In your case, an extra £1.70 on postage to be shared between Ebay and RM, giving each party an additional 85p for processing what is a large letter package (costing £2.70 from RM Tracked 48).
All of it funded by the seller, IF you voluntarily choose to refund the buyer the £1.70 overcharge.
Or you may wish to agree with the buyer to cancel the sale, based on mis-sold item postage? After all, it is a form of mis-selling. The buyer would get a full refund including mis-charged postage. But Ebay are likely to blame the seller for cancelling a highly profitable transaction and will give you a strike for doing so.

Oh yes "we will be bringing you new features" etc. But it's something that things are changing and will end up nothing like what they wanted it to be
06-05-2025 7:59 PM
That doesn't surprise me. Or possibly hold money until automated feedback is given ???.
06-05-2025 8:01 PM
Another no win situation for a seller. The list just gets longer and longer.

I've had one or automated feedbacks but some that they've missed, probably another 'glitch'... not!
06-05-2025 8:08 PM
I've not had a automated feedback because I didn't have any items for sale. I just feel that if future potential buyers see automated feedback received will it make them wonder why the feedback given was automated ?
06-05-2025 8:08 PM
How can custom postage give the buyer a choice, any choice, what a nightmare it has become. And RM 48 SP is only £3.45

Same old arrogant bollicks from eBay. “We’ve been listening” Really! You wouldn’t have to make it better, if you hadn’t introduced it. Just make SD optional and scrap the outrageous BPF scam.

If a seller has 100% positive feedback I never need to read them, I only check feedback if negative so I won't know where the positive feedback came from, either actual buyer's or automated.
