AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

I'm reluctant to get into an argument, but I will NOT have it said without refuting it that I jumped to conclusions when patently I didn't. YOU misread my post, and read what you wanted to believe into it. You could have just acknowledged that fact instead of trying to justify it with some spurious excuse.

As it's your right.
And just as it's anyone's right to make a general observation on what is rife on the Boards (not just on this thread) without being berated or unjustly accused.

We’re all in this together but eBay let us fight and couldn’t give a toss they stay silent in important matters remember that

"And just as it's anyone's right to make a general observation"
Make up your mind. Was it general (albeit posted almost directly after my post), or was it, as you subsequently said, "an observation on one particular point". Why can't you just be big enough to acknowledge that you read it wrong?

Please try not to argue on this thread guys...... last thread that had a bit of a barney on it got locked by KH.

You're right, Lucy. I must admit I'm very cross about it, firstly about his original post and then making it worse by trying to deny that it was aimed at me. However, in the interests of the thread, I won't go on about it.

On the initial post you refer to, did you see “in response to moonlight-rhapsody”?
No - if you looked.
Over the last nearly 20 years I’ve been involved with eBay, there’s been change upon change upon change upon change.
Whether anyone agrees or disagrees with any change, it happens nonetheless.
The amount of money eBay will have expended on any change will be worth it to them - and to them only.
The old adage for selling on any site (not just eBay) - adapt or die.
Given the eBay searches I use - there are many private sellers who are obviously making this work - so it’s up to individuals to make it work, or die.
And I’ve said from the beginning when Simple Delivery was envisaged, they’d make a pig’s ear of it and it would be a disaster.

Mine was fine this morning then about 7pm I notice it had changed to the 3.64 and the 2kg is now 5.15.

Trump hasn’t put mssive tariffs on for uk but postage with gsp has gone ultra crazy yes it’s a joke
you can send without gsp but take your own risks ie buyer willing to pay import taxes and all that stuff and getting tracked info as delivered

Depends on what size the parcel is. Royal Mail Tracked 48 medium parcel up to 2Kg is £5.15.

So true my friend. Well said. I have never in all my years on eBay seen a thread that has provoked such strong feelings from users or that has gone on for sooooo long, well done us really, that’s what we should be saying. We all need to be supportive of each other, rudeness etc has no place here, have your opinion but try and respect that others have theirs too.

Rogerarsenal2, have a great ‘retirement’, stress free with the constrains of eBay. Best wishes, 😁

I agree with you and @dion5feb2016
I'd decided that I couldn't trust ebay with my NINO and stopped listing just before the "Free to Sell" announcement was made. Getting nervous that if something sold my funds would be held until I complied.
Looking back over these last few months private sellers have lost the (up to) 1K free listings per month and reduced FVF offers (which I mostly didn't use). Been labelled as untrustworthy sellers by ebay that buyers need extra protection from with the BPF and further restrictions on payments made mandatory.
Then restrictions on choice of delivery with eventual compulsory use of SD coming whenever ebay manages to get them up and running properly.
Taken together that is a huge reduction in the level of service that ebay gives me in exchange for what it describes as "Free to Sell" on ebay, when it's become apparent to me over the past 2 years that unless I "volunteer" to promote my ads. at around 10%, I'll only be allowed to sell a handful of items a year. Just enough to keep the hope of more sales alive if I take the bait.
Even without the NINO issue, the answer for me is No It Isn't a deal worth making. Ebay now is nothing like the ebay I signed-up to, a decade ago. It was a place where I was responsible for my listings and my customer service, where I was judged by ebay and my buyers by how well or badly I managed my transactions. Now it seems I'm judged solely by how many pigeon holes ebay can push me into and how big a percentage ebay can extract from my sales.

so why does it say 2025?? Or can hacks only happen once!

100% this place has gone to the dogs since I signed up 24 years ago.
In particular for the past 5 year years they have been slowly boiling the buyer and seller frogs gradually turning up the heat but the double whammy of BFF and SD this year is enough for people to realise they are in hot water, ebay are not their friend but an enemy, and take whatever action they consider appropriate.
In my case I've moved 80% of my purchase and 50% of my sales rate elsewhere just because there are now better options than ebay. It's not personal just market forces at work as it doesn't pay to be loyal anymore.
