AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

I think it would be a very crowded beach. I think most of us like the thought of that lol.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if you get one of my favourite eBay emails in a couple of weeks:
‘We’ve noticed that these listings are not performing well…here, let us help you get them sold’
By suggesting you lower the price, spend hours on item specifics….
and adding simple delivery to them without your permission.

Going into partnership with marketplace have been reading about it

Would help but not enough for me i want to combine postage to treat my buyers fairly like i always have

I've not seen that yet. But I did think RM wouldn't appreciate the "pushing partnerships" comment coming from evri.

Yes. I can cope with the payment holds, ebay balance, lower prices and the BPF but ended my listings over SD.
I will only consider selling here again if they reinstate ‘advanced options’ permanently and allow me to arrange my own postage with Royal Mail and Post Office.

I did have a message today "get your items in front of more eyes with £15 off promoted listings"!!!!!!!
What would HELP ME IS LETTING ME SELL HOW I WANT TO!
16-04-2025 4:59 PM
I agree totally. It's not a great change to make to let sellers have that choice at least.

I am now less likely to sell than I was when you started this post . Simple Delivery made it very difficult to continue selling, the response reaction from Ebay is simply infuriating and will only deteriorate their customer relationship even more .
The simple stark message of this post is bang on the nail and only a company run by a bunch of clowns would fail to react immediately to such a strong message that has been re-iterated by so many in so few days . It really is beyond belief .
If they suspended SD now there is a chance some sellers may return for the big holiday weekend .

No disrespect intended but you are waiting for the wrong thing.
I'm about as anti Simple Delivery as it gets but it isn't the biggest problem here.
The biggest one is in their terms and conditions.
The part where they can make changes without notice.
As long as that remains, nothing they say can be trusted.
They could entice you back giving you what you want and change everything straight back.

Never had one of those, despite having had certain items which were listed quite a few times without success - perhaps because I always put them back on as 'new' listings via 'sell similar', rather than 'relist'?

And if a big number of sellers used promoted listings you'd be in the same situation as you are now but they would have gained more money from you.

Maybe the fact that they're making such offers is in response to a sudden noticeable drop in listings?

News online is where i found it
16-04-2025 5:05 PM
So true. But I'm also thinking that if they made that concession they'd only come up with something else.
16-04-2025 5:09 PM
100% agree with that sentiment, just one small step back from them, one giant leap back from us. (Where have I heard that from)!!!

Thank you. I'll definitely have a look. Those are the type of things users here should be told.

No, waiting for fair and transparent treatment would be the wrong thing because it would be expecting the impossible. Their T&Cs have always been dangerous and unacceptable, but I managed as things worked for me on a practical level. When that stopped, so did I. If they ‘give me what I want’ and then change straight back again, I’d stop selling again.
No disrespect to you but I don’t think I’m waiting for the wrong thing at all. I’m waiting for a very small and highly doable partial rollback that will make it possible for me to sell again.

No, I’ve never relisted, always sell similar. And I’ve never had listings not sell within a few weeks at the most.
Those emails only started coming about a year ago and mostly on my higher priced items after just a few days, so I think the AI thought they were not selling because they were overpriced, though really, who knows, it could be anything.

Quick question. It might not seem immediately relevant on this thread but as so many of us here are thinking of jumping ship I hope you will bear with me! Some of my items have been up literally for years and I have no idea where the photos are saved. I am trying to harvest the photos from my (paused) listings. This is something I know I have done before, but now, even when I go into 'revise your listing' I can only save the photo as a web page which is no use if you want to just isolate the photo to use elsewhere. I'm not going to be chuffed if I find that eBay have essentially claimed copyright over my own photos, which is what it feels like if I can't get those photos downloaded! I am not very computer savvy so if anyone has any tips please let me know. (I am using a desktop PC not the *bleep*py smart phone app). Thank you!
