NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Yeah it's completely unrelated but they are trying to suggest it's a benefit of SD as it's so unpopular and they are desperately trying to justify it.

But then I don't agree with automatic feedback it's not respecting the wishes of the buyer to leave no feedback when mildly dissatisfied so consider it just another thing they have broken.

My last 2 feedbacks are automated too, I have never used SD either. I don't like automated feedback, it isn't someone's opinion of me or the way I have dealt with them.

Well from Sunday (would be sooner but am too busy) I am outta here, I am being FORCED to use SD, I have to post an item I just sold by Sunday! Can’t have it collected, have to physically take it to a post office which is 7 miles away in either direction as my local one closed! Well, thats it, this straw nas just broke the camels back! I will still keep my account open but won’t be listing anymore, as for buying anything from them either.

Really? Does SD not have the usual 2/3 days to dispatch that custom has? Seems very odd plus it's BH weekend 🙄

Did you have dispatch within 2 days or did eBay change it to that? Cos I have 4 days dispatch on mine, are they going to change that?

That is one of the conditions of Simple Delivery, you have to use the label they provide within a certain time period,which is basically 2 days,or it expires(so I am told)... That is one of the problems of it, perhaps you are away for some reason when an item sells, you can't contact the buyer and explain the situation, you have to get the item you have sold sent within the time period..

What happened - post count was 5933 and has now dropped to 5928.

Yes I know and I am having a very important family occasion this weekend so I wont be sending the item. AND NO I cannot contact the buyer so they will unfortunately have to wait with no explanation being advised! That’s great for maintaining a decent service and good relationships with your buyers isnt it

I wasn't having a go at you, I was just explaining to someone how the label system worked... Im with you 100% , I think it is terrible for customer relations, and for circumstances beyond our control....

I cannot ‘work’ with this anymore,  were an employer or business associate I would be saying the same, mutual respect is required and I for 1 am not receiving any, there are some really decent people on here, I will miss some of them

Not a problem....when reading comments,it can be easy to misunderstand what people are saying..... I was actually replying to somebody called Sunflower.. ,and repeating what someone told me in one of the comments on here the other day, about how the Labels worked,which I was shocked about...

I made the decision to go a few weeks ago but hung in there as I could still use RM but it has been a stress, waiting for the next ‘instalment’. Enough is enough

I still have the ability to choose my own postage at the moment, but I won't take the chance of listing anything, because I know that they can change it to Simple Delivery when an item sells, and I really don't want to deal with it or have any potential problem, so I removed all of my listings a couple of weeks ago.

That's very unusual isn't it, eBay saying send by a date that is a Sunday?? I've always found they take the weekend into account. So is that different on SD? Also you say you can't contact the buyer, is that stopped by SD - I always send a 'Thank you for your purchase...'.  message, will that not be possible?? Surely you can have contact with your buyer?

This is strange, suddenly when I view the order details I can now contact the buyer, the despatch date has changed to Wednesday but when I go to purchase label the message is ‘

Your prepaid label is tracked and covered by eBay

Post by Sun 25 May’.

Another used told me that unless you purchase the label within 2 days it gets cancelled.

Well I am preserving until midnight in Sunday after which my listings will be no more.
