AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Ebay say; its My way or the high way! Use it or Loose it. Your not getting any money back. Tough! I have been round the merry go round with Ebay. Zero support with SD and BP.

It's worse than that - it's £1.55 for a 100g large letter (my most common postage type) and £0.89 for a 100g letter. What a customer would previously pay £3.54 for including postage is now £5.53. That's a 50% jump in price.
So has SD started yet? I'm still able to list toys for £50 and use advanced delivery. I thought it was capped at £10 and starting yesterday?

Have the morons given yet?
I took all of my listings down due to the SD nonsense. I'm not paying nearly £3 to post something that should cost £1 and be put in a post box. Especially when the item is worth just £3.
I did see that items under £10 and weighing less than 100g could use custom postage but I've got no idea on how to check other than going into the listings individually. Which would be a waste of time with one or two low revenue sales a month.

It's now 29th all my listings are still on custom postage,
And ebay are still taking my purchases off my registered card instead from my sales balance.
I've now had an email informing me I've been accepted to get the new shiny metrics sales tool.
It wouldn't be so bad if I've actually sold anything more than 1 item out of over 300 listings this month.

I tried listing a couple of my self-suspended items to see, & yes, I can still opt for my choice of using actual stamps (I've got loads to use up, so SD is no use to me) - so might relist some more - but, if SD is imposed on them, any such listings will be pulled again double quick. Intrigued to see what happens to large letters, as I send postcards with good thick card support. It's stampski or offski for me(ski)!

I've added this (an update to my previous) to my new listings -
NB - I will probably withdraw this (& most of my other items for sale) on April 6th, due to ebay's Simplified Delivery coming in on the 7th.... so buy before then if you want it! Cheers..
Above still applies when ebay bring it in, which they haven't yet ...

weekly chats have been useless so far and customer services are hopeless regarding SD,
Even listing in postcards its hit and miss if i can get custom postage as not always there ,then blinks off when it is , did a bulk edit on vinyl sings and some show as £1.90 (my postage ) other are SD £2.74 ,Cig cards are the same mix, but can not look at them all its for ebay to put right ??

Is the weekly chat due at 2pm today ??
It's usually Wednesdays.

the weekly chat team did say SD was being rolled out so i did reprint this as needed pointing out ,,,Starting from 15 April, Simple Delivery will be the only delivery method available for private sellers when listing most items. It’s designed to reduce the effort that shipping takes and offers 20% off postage costs, on average ,,, as no mention of rollouts in the three week old ebay news announcement BUT WAS DELETED will it still be rolling out next week ?? or fixed??

I certainly do not see myself as a disrupter.
Quite the contrary, my posts are intended to bring some of the more "out-there" posters back closer to reality.
Look back at your own posts.
Can you honestly say you believe everything you've posted?
Or do you recognise that the vast majority of it is simply to stir up discontent with eBay, with no thought at all being given to advancing the topic in a useful or truthful manner?
I don't think you're daft. I think you know exactly what you're doing.
I've said before; overall, this is a pretty good thread, containing a lot of really useful information, but it is let down by a small number of borderline twisted individuals, who take delight in being as contrary as possible, often going well beyond the bounds of what is actually believable. These people are the disrupters.

The latest on sd that I came across was mandatory from the 28th April but started ignoring sd announcements since listings were supposed to start changing over from the 7th April, then mandatory on the 15th April. My listings are still unchanged.

Although I took all my listings off eBay a months ago, I have just tried to list a DVD post free using custom postage and I keep getting the message in a red box -
"If overrides are provided for domestic postage, you need to provide overrides for all services in domestic postage"
29-04-2025 6:07 PM
Try using sell similar with one that is already listed i just tested one and it came up with advanced options and my small parcel price with RM. I've always used sell similar
29-04-2025 6:08 PM
Or if you have deleted all the listings sell similar with one that you have sold
29-04-2025 7:07 PM
As I said, I took ALL my listings off eBay a month ago - there is nothing already listed.
29-04-2025 7:25 PM
Why should I even have to use a previous listing? My item is listed, it has added the unnecessary so-called buyer protection fee of £1.72, and despite me reducing the postage from £2.10 to £2 AND making it free postage to the buyer, the online listing STILL shows buyer to pay £2.10 postage. Why is it really so difficult?

It looks like the change in your postage options hasn't been saved as the only revisions it shows is for the best offer and the buy it now price.
There is a glitch with the postage on custom postage for letter and large letter options that doesn't seem to change and keep to what you type.
Also sometimes it can take a while for revisions to take effect.

Yet another issue... had an offer (yay) but....buyer in Denmark. Lowish offer does not tell me if BPF included. The price is with odd pence added. Item listed as £32 but appears as £34 to buyers offer £27 and odd pence. Going GSP but dont know if ebay will offer SD to Litchfield...No information for us to accept offer and know what we might get! Decided to decline offer and remove offer (from all our listings) and change price to one we would accept as a plain BIN. When going to bulk edit a banner says 'UK buyers MAY pay BPF' not 'WILL??? and how do we know AI got it right as NO info in offer re 'inc BPF' or 'BPF exempt'. Online Daily Mirror also mentions changes to SD and 30 odd exemptions but cant find anything here.

As I refuse to be forced to use simple delivery I’m asking the same questions to the agents and I’m getting a different answer to the same question 7 times now . For some strange reason thankfully I’m still able to use custom postage for the moment, the moment Ill be only able to use simple delivery I will cancel the sale and close my account after 16 years . I sell Collectable stamps which are in albums or single stamps I refuse to ship my items to stamp collectors with barcodes . Period . I’d rather send a blind donkey to deliver my mail than use Evri ( the parcel chuckers) . I’m still absolutely furious . Just opened an account and paid for platinum with e b i d and so far all is good . Also good to hear and see so many buyers and sellers are doing the same .

I'm same as you. Will not use sd. So when my listing's go to that I will leave. I sell vinyl records mostly and like you have joined platinum e b I d. Listing on there is so easy. Like ebay of old. Starting to put vinyl on there this weekend. Let's hope a lot of sellers who are fed up join as well. Then maybe hopefully e b i d will start to see a lot more buyers
