NEGATIVE FEEDBACK FOR BUYERS

FOR SOME REASON BEST KNOWN TO THEMSELVES EBAY DO NOT ALLOW SELLERS TO LEAVE BUYERS NEGATIVE FEEDBACK YET BUYER CAN LEAVE FOR SELLER. I UNFORTUNATELY HAVE FROM TIME TO TIME HAD NON PAYERS AND OBVIOUSLY THEY DESERVE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK BUT CAN’T LEAVE UNLESS UNDER “POSITIVE “ HEADING WHICH IS SIMPLY MISLEADING. IF YOU SEE BUYER HAD 100% FEEDBACK YOU ARE VERY UNLIKELY TO READ THROUGH TO SEE IF ANY ARE NEGATIVE 🙈🙈🙈🙈 IF YOU REPORT NON PAYER TO EBAY THEY CAN SEE YOUR FEEDBACK IS 100% TRUTHFUL. THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE. DON’T FORGET NO SELLERS NO EBAY, YES OF COURSE THAT APPLIES TO BUYER. WE NEED TO BE WORKING ON LEVEL PLAYING FIELD

Re: NEGATIVE FEEDBACK FOR BUYERS

The only thing you can do is block the buyers to stop them buying from you

Cancel the transactions using "problem with buyers address" and block them

Sadly, you cannot warn other sellers

I suspect you will not get back what you sent in the first place....

I think you will get an empty box or a box of junk. Clearly thinks they can supply their side chicks with perfumes etc at no cost...

Re: NEGATIVE FEEDBACK FOR BUYERS

By keeping this policy in place, eBay is actively enabling criminals to operate freely on their platform.

Re: NEGATIVE FEEDBACK FOR BUYERS

Speaking as a fairly experienced buyer but non seller I totally agree with you.   I don’t think it’s fair that eBay seem to come  down on the side of the buyer most of the time but I suppose that’s the system.

I’m fortunate that I’ve only had one problem with a seller, he/she advertised a lovely jacket as medium but when I tried it on it was too small.  I checked the label and found it was a small.  I’m sure it was a genuine error and as I hadn’t paid much I didn’t say anything to the seller and gave the jacket to our local Air Ambulance shop.

Nearly all my very few problems have been with the couriers not with the sellers.  Evri told me they had delivered 2 packages but there was no sign of them.   I knew that Evri hadn’t been anywhere near my house, no one rang the very loud doorbell and they hadn’t emailed me about it.  10 days later the packages suddenly arrived, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.  I could only think someone had made a right cat’s  breakfast of the delivery (sorry I don’t swear on a public forum) or they were lying through their teeth)😫.  I’m not sure which would be worse

Re: NEGATIVE FEEDBACK FOR BUYERS

So how about buyers leaving false negative feedback for sellers? nothing to do with non-payment, just telling lies about your service. Are we supposed to just accept that?

Re: NEGATIVE FEEDBACK FOR BUYERS

non-payment is not always the issue. What about malicious negative feedback rom a buyer, how do you protect against that?

Re: NEGATIVE FEEDBACK FOR BUYERS

so you agree, eBay favours buyers over sellers? Glad you cleared that up, makes cancelling my shop subscription and leaving eBay permanently a much easier decision to make

Re: NEGATIVE FEEDBACK FOR BUYERS

Ive been with ebay over twenty years but it has changed.  Used to be the go to marketplace for both buyers and sellers; both treated equally and with respect.  Now buyers have sellers over a barrel and the less scrupulous are delighted to exploit.  Meanwhile e-bayb are making squillions.

Re: NEGATIVE FEEDBACK FOR BUYERS

Its going to get worse from 4th Feb.

Now, to give your buyers even more confidence when shopping, UK-based private sellers will be paid after item delivery, from 4 Feb. Your funds will be available in your eBay balance two days after delivery confirmation.*** We know it's important to get your money fast, so we recommend using a tracked delivery service either through Simple Delivery, or arranging for local collection.

Re: NEGATIVE FEEDBACK FOR BUYERS

You may not be able to leave a negative feedback but nothing to stop you leaving a negative comment about the buyer.  Make sure it's in nice BIG capital letters.  You get 200 characters so you can get your point across. Some of these buyers are selfish .  Of course wait until you've been left feedback from the buyer before doing this

What you are suggesting there would be a serious breach of eBay's Feedback Policy and would be removed if reported.

Re: NEGATIVE FEEDBACK FOR BUYERS

Well hopefully it gets seen in time for others to see . So basically,
unless you leave a buyer that's messed you about a nice comment, then a
negative comment would be removed ? What do you think? What a strange carry
on .
Other buyers and sellers need to know who they're dealing with

you cannot use these boards to advise others to break eBay rules.

Re: NEGATIVE FEEDBACK FOR BUYERS

for me it's totally wrong I agree and ebay reasoning for it is one sided, how I get round it is by the wording and capital letters although it doesn't always help because it has to go in the positive selection I've noticed other do the same as well

Re: NEGATIVE FEEDBACK FOR BUYERS

This is my first experience of a non payment from a buyer .. how is it equal and fair that we as sellers cannot leave negative feedback on a buyer who does not pay.

Please explain under equality acts this is fair?

Also as you clearly can see all transactions and communications you can tell when there is no response.  To be "Fair" you should give us the same protection  against users looking to artificially boosting a positive ratings.

Re: NEGATIVE FEEDBACK FOR BUYERS

I had a customer who purchased two items.  Claimed both are faulty.  I explained that even that it can happen its odd tat one customer receives two item and both are faulty but am willing to take is word for it so asked to test it on a different computer.  He did so and yet claimed still faulty.

So bearing in mind that he claimed both are faulty e only sent back one.  Tested it to be working fine on 2 of my computer at my shop and at 1 pc at home.

Informed the customer of the results but he still insisted it was faulty so I did no what to pursue it and offered to send it back at his cost or refund it.  He chose to get a refund so did it.

Next thing I see is his review  stated "Partial refunded very disrespectful to the customer, remember that you are protected by ebay guarantee and not the seller"

I dont know where this "Partial" came from as he had a full refund on the item he sent back.  If both are faulty as he claimed why not send both back for refund.

This customer tryed is best to get a refund for both and keep one.  Sounds like attempted fraud to get money back on bother without send both back

I would not mind refunding both if he sent both back and both was faulty and I would not minded bearing the cost of return label if his claims was valid.

Sad part is I call eBay agent and spoke about removing the bad false review but they refused saying that they cant do because there no evidence of wrong doing.  All they had to do is look at the messages between me and the customer and it would be apparent what was going on.

If I did that as a seller there no way I could getaway doing that without hurting my business in the long term.
