Missing items using Ebay Global Shipping Program - how to claim?

I sold an item a month ago to an overseas buyer through the Ebay Global Shipping Program. It has not been delivered and tracking shows the last entry two weeks ago was "returned to client", it has not been returned to me. I have asked ebay about it and I received the response "You can contact your shipping service provider and get information about where the item is."

So basically "sort it out yourself, even though we were paid to handle the shipping". Surely they should be responsible. How do I know how to contact and get a refund? Is it even worth the time and blood pressure chasing ebay about this further?

Do you have tracking proving delivery to the GSP hub in Lichfield?

If so then you are not responsible for items lost or damaged in transit after that.  Your buyer would need to open an 'Item not received' dispute and then you provide the tracking to the hub and respond that under the terms of the Global Shipping Program you are not responsible for items lost following delivery to the hub.   Ebay should then assume responsibility for the refund.

Do you have a tracking number showing delivery to the UK shipping hub in Lichfield?

I've had this issue but ebay closed in my favour as I just provided tracking to the UK hub. They handled the rest. No problem. Have you provided tracking to ebay to the Lichfield hub, without it you will most likely be held responsible.

Re: Missing items using Ebay Global Shipping Program - how to claim?

Hi there. I'm having a similar issue where the buyer claims he hasn't received the item, and I have proof of the item arriving at the eBay hub in Lichfield, but I can't seem to find a way of contacting the eBay hub to inform them of this information. Do you know how I can do this? The buyer has opened an"item not received" request, but I can only reply by replying to him, which doesn't help the procedure, there doesn't seem to be any way of sending any documents confirming the item was received and dispatched from Lichfield.

Thanks

Karl.

Re: Missing items using Ebay Global Shipping Program - how to claim?

I just contact eBay from the contact us section on their website. They phone me back in a few minutes  and it's quickly sorted . Last one went to Italy and wasn't delivered they refunded the customer and me. All good. If your tracking was uploaded on the order to the hub they can see it and that's all you need to prove you sent it there and did your part.

Re: Missing items using Ebay Global Shipping Program - how to claim?

I have bought 2 diamond pendants from eBay and they made them go through the eBay international shipping in Illinois.  Both items have “gone missing”.  No explanation other than a certificate was needed (not true) and they a new excuse of customs might confiscate it.  So the refunded me for one,  now the 2nd one “went missing”.   Personally I believe that there is theft of high value items happening.  Or they are amazingly incompetent and can’t keep track of our purchased items.    So I won’t be buying anything from the US again with eBay.   I’ll use Etsy instead.

This as happened to me 3 times in the past, as already said once GSP receive it its no longer your responsibility, tracking confirms they received it, they will refund the buyer, you keep your money.
